Holiday Inn Express Cardiff Airport by IHG

Well equipped bathroom for people of good or not so good mobility.

Nothing unique. It’s a Holiday inn. The map link sent by Expedia was completely inaccurate taking me into car diff airport. The hotel was over a mile away.

The room was very warm and not able to open the windows

Fantastic location, 10 minutes walk to Porthkerry Park, which has amazing views and a pebble beach! Lovely cafe and play area for the children. Also next to the airport which is lovely for the kids to see the aeroplanes landing. The hotel was extremely basic, same beans/toast/eggs for breakfast each day with a selection of drinks. I know it was a budget 3* hotel but the cleanliness was not there, we didn’t get daily housekeeping, the bathroom was disgusting with the plug hole of the shower filled and blocked with hair/dirt, which meant that when you showered the disgusting water would pile up and not drain. we had to ask for clean towels as the dirty ones were not changed. Other than that, the staff are fantastic! Very friendly, I would love to return again should the general hygiene of the rooms be sorted. Thank you

Hotel room was clean and the location was perfect - within walking distance of Cardiff airport - and we heard no noise, either from aircraft or otherwise. However, despite paying (a very reasonable rate) for 3 days parking while for our trip away) we were told that we’d have to move the car from their paved parking to their gravel parking lot. This wouldn’t have been an issue except there was no parking available on the gravel lot. I thought it was an inconvenience to be told to go back a check for spaces later that night or first thing in the morning to move the car. As it happened, there never was a free space on the gravel, so my car remained on the paved space. Furthermore, we booked in for an early morning shuttle to the departures terminal and somehow we were missed off the list. The following morning we had to wait for the shuttle to go and return because it was full and our names were not on the list. Fortunately it was a quick turn-around as the terminal is so close. All in all, the room/location were great, but there were mistakes made at check-in.
