"Convenient Overnight Stay"

6.0

We stayed for one night whilst travelling back from the French Alps. The hotel is close to the main route in but located in a quiet residential spot. The pool is small but refreshing and the kids enjoyed it. The hotel is in need of a good clean in the corridors and the dead flies removing from the lamp shades, however the room was in contrast clean and bright. The hotel is located near some restaurants and a supermarket, although a little way out of Blois. Nicely convenient for Chambord chateau.

"Old hotel and one of the worst restaurant service in my life"

2.0

Traveling with my family, we've been recommended to stay in this hotel. My recommendation is to avoid it: the farthest hotel from downtown Blois, pretty old style, the maquette on the room does not seem to be perfectly clean. The good thing is that the room is pretty comfortable for 3 people The service at the restaurant is extremely slow: we needed to wait 50 minutes just to order and an additional 25 minutes to get the food. Which, fortunately, was good; we had a goat cheese bavaraise and some fish

"We were not too happy with our stay"

4.0

We booked the hotel on Booking.com the night before and got a really good price for a family with two children. The hotel has a swimmingpool and it looked really good on the pictures and the hotel looked really nice. We drove by the sister hotel – Bellagio in Amboise and it looked wonderful so we were looking forward to this one in Blois. When we got there it looked ok but you could see that the hotel was older and has seen better days. The girls at the checkin were nice bit could not recommend any restaurant nearby. You can have dinner at the hotel and it looked good but it was too much food and we were not that hungry. Our room looked nice when we got there – a room for four people. One big double bed and one pullout sofa for two. The bed were comfortable and the bathroom was ok. But there was no working air condition and it was a worm night. The A/C did not work and there was a fen so the hotel must have known it did not work. We had the window open for a while but there were too much bugs and moscitos coming in so we had to close the window. The fan was not enough. The room was hot and we were not comfortable the whole night. The room had a lot of bugs that we had to kill before being able to sleep. My husband and children went to the pool – it was a really small pool. They said it was not very nice and that there were sand on the bottom. It felt dirty and like the hotel did not clean the pool very othen. We did not enjoy our stay very much and were glad that we just stayed one night. Wiifii did not work in our room very well

My back still hurts. Overall a nice stay enjoyed it.

"Wonderful Relaxing Place to Stay in Blois"

8.0

I was there on business but brought my family. The Staff was very nice and helpful. The lobby was a great place to watch football or to just hang out with friends. The wifi is slow but I am sure that will soon be addressed. The place to stay if you like to be outside of the main city where you can enjoy the peace of nature. There is a trail with an easy walk down to the river Loire.

"Friendly, fun, comfortable and good value for money"

8.0

We stayed for 1 night in a family room on drive to South. Air con ( feeble but enough) tea/coffee facilities, comfy bed (not so the child's sofa bed) nice bathroom and clean and fresh. The pool was very welcome and although quite busy we had fun. Good breakfast, friendly, helpful staff - some speak good English. Free parking. Only disadvantage is not close to town, in a residential area off a busy road.

"Room"

8.0

Check in desk did not have us down for family room even though our reservation showed this. However, they did put us in a family room, downside was the '2 single beds' was a sofa bed & one mattress was on the floor. On the plus side, room was roomy enough, clothes hangers would have been useful as would have some tea bags or more than 2 sachets of coffee (4 people in room!). Shower was decent, powerful and warm. Check out easy.

"Not bad, good location."

8.0

The Villa Bellagio Blois was formally a Novotel (Google maps/street view still shows it as this). It is situated in a good location within easy cycling distance (3 km) of Blois town centre or short drive. Chateau Chambord is also very close about 20mins drive. Which is great if you want to get there early to miss the queues and crowds (recommended). Rooms are modern and sizable (at least family rooms are) with a double bed and a sofa bed that converts to two single beds. Minor points stop this from being a really good hotel. For instance parts of the hotel feel a little tired decor wise. Our room's air conditioning was not particularly effective (opening the window wide despite the heat was much more effective) and the free WiFi was available, but connecting also too erratic. The room change laundery bags were often too much in evidence in the corridors. There is a pool, and the restaurant serves a buffett evening meal (at least the night we were there although we went into Blois to eat). Breakfast provides a good selection trying to cover most peoples preference, cereals, pastries, breads, yogurts, cold meats, cheeses, jams, spreads, hot bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, juices, tea, coffee, etc.

"Decent, good location"

6.0

Stayed as a family overnight stop while trapsing across France. It's well situated for access to Blois town centre and the Chateau Royal de Blois as well as all other attractions this historic town has, which are within cycling range (for less experienced cyclists) or an easy drive. Also well situated for Chateau Chambord about 20 mins drive. Very good if you want to get there early to avoid the crowds. This was a Novotel (still Novotel under Google Maps (2015)), which Villa Bellagio Blois have taken over. It's built in a modern style with swimming pool. Parking, but not secure. Rooms are spacious and family room has a double bed and sofa bed (converts to two single beds). Air conditioning was noisy and not very functional. Opening the window was more effective. They've taken over the Novotel WiFi, but although free I had difficulty using it even when connected. A lot of guests were taking advantage of the hire bikes to get into Blois. Breakfast was a mixture of continental (meat, cheeses, breads, pastries, jams, etc) and some hot (sausages, bacon, scrambled egg). All was good.
