Schoone Oordt Country House

We had only one night at Schoone Oordt Country House but what a stay! From the moment we arrived we were treated like old friends and made to feel very welcome. The accommodation is luxurious and indulgent, attention to detail is perfect. Loved the cafetiere for coffee in our room and the afternoon drinks by the pool. Dinner was perfect and the atmosphere was like an old fashioned house party. Breakfast was on another level, a feast meaning no lunch required. All topped off as we watched our car being washed before departure. Alison is a delight and already feels like an old friend. If we make it back to South Africa we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Wij verbleven in een super ruime familiesuite: stijlvol, comfortabel en ideaal met kinderen door de aparte slaapruimte. Het personeel is oprecht vriendelijk en servicegericht, en gaf ons ook leuke, bruikbare tips voor de omgeving. Het restaurant was een echte verrassing: hoogstaand en ontzettend lekker eten – absoluut geen standaard hotelniveau. Ook het ontbijt is top. De rustige tuin met zwembad maakt het helemaal af. Hier klopt gewoon alles: sfeer, kwaliteit en aandacht voor detail. Zouden hier zo weer boeken – of zelfs langer blijven.

Nothing to dislike

What a stunning place to stay, the rooms were beautifully appointed, the food was delicious and the warm welcome from Alison and her staff made us feel as if we've come home. Absolutely loved our brief sat at Schoone Oordt and we will most certainly be back.

Amazing hospitality from staff and Alison especially as we had arrived in not very good health suffering from a bad virus picked up in Cape town some days earlier. Very understanding and considerate to us. A truly tranquil house and location highly recommended would certainly return again.
