Nice environment

Lovely clean and comfortable room. The food in the pub was absolutely delicious, definitely more than your average pub food! Staff were so friendly and attentive, will definitely return. I am gluten free and it was no problem atall, in fact almost the whole menu was available or adaptable.

Sadly we stayed during storm Amy and the windows showed that they could do with an extra lock to hold them in place as they knocked most of the night.... no reflection on the place itself as the weather can't be tamed... but for future it might be a good idea to have the extra lock.

After seeing Four In A Bed we decided to book a stay at The Thorverton and it certainly did not disappoint. What a gem of a place in a lovely location. We were greeted by Rob who clearly has a passion for his work and works incredibly hard. All other staff we met too were so welcoming, friendly and efficient. Our room was great value for money, was comfortable and well equipped. The food served is of exceptional quality and the portions very generous

Beautiful location Room decorated lovely

Our room was above the kitchen. There was a locked cupboard in the corner of the bedroom which we think must have been for the extractor fan pipe, because every morning and evening before and for the whole of food service there was this awful noise which made the room vibrate. The mattress needs replacing as it slopes off to the edges and you feel your going to roll out of bed on both sides. The toilet seat moved when you sat on it and we only had 1 full toilet roll and 1 with a few sheets on supplied for the whole of our 3 night stay. We had to go and buy some along with milk and tea bags, as the tea tray wasn't replenished either. Such a shame these things let it down, because on the whole it was a lovely pub in a lovely location.

Very nice place to go, really friendly staff and friendly people in the area too! Staff was very welcoming! Food was unbelievably good! Very generous portions too!
