The owner was friendly and chatted a lot over check in. Which was slightly irritating as just wanted to check in and explore Hastings. He was elderly and slow so was patient with him. There was no explanation of facilities in hotel e.g. wifi, breakfast etc. Room was clean and comfortable. On check out there was no one at the reception so was unsure of procedure. Ended up seeing a member of staff and she told us to leave the keys on the counter. This was the only staff we encountered on our stay. But for one night was comfortable and clean.

We had a very pleasant 1 night stay at The Grand Hastings with a lovely sea view. Very peaceful and relaxing for us. Staff members and owner were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The bed was a little worn and springy however but we still really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return when we next plan to be in East Sussex

Very basic, could do with new mattresses, bathroom had three doors! One that led straight onto the communal hallway, one was locked, and one door to the room. The building has been repainted grey and no longer yellow - so bit confused when trying to find it. Parking - had to pay. On the plus side it was clean and thank goodness for the sea view!
