"Grand Hastings review"

8.0

Stayed 2 nights and double bed was most uncomfortable very hard needs new mattres. Twin room beds were fine. No breakfast though. Parking was advertised but very difficult to find in public areas no parking on site it was on the side of the road. Otherwise very nice stay. Road very busy during the day but very quiet at nights. We had two sea view rooms which was very nice. Would stay here again if we needed too.

Great accommodation. Perfectly positioned in front of the pebble beach. Friendly owner. Very comfortable room with tea & coffee provided and towels available too. The freeview TV worked great. Shower was powerful & hot - all in all great comfort & better than the 2* makes it sound like!

"Good value for money. Good service."

8.0

We had a good stay during term break with the kids. The room was decent, but considering the price it was great value for money. Above all the room and the bathroom were very clean (that’s always our concern). Mattress could be a little more comfortable but this was great for a 2 night stay. The hotel is right across the beach as an added bonus. Peter was very friendly and informative, had it not been for him we would have missed out on a visit to Bodiam castle. He also gave good tips for the rainy day. Not sure we would come back to Hasting, but if we do we would reuse this hotel.

"worst hotel ever"

2.0

when we finally found the place due to it being a completly different look to the pictures aswell as circuling the hotel for half an hour trying to find a space to park, we were greeted by a very friendly man who would not stop talking, kept us outside with luggage in our hands even after explaining we had a long drive and just wanted to get to our room. spent another 10 mins at reception before walking up a mountain of stairs ( understandably as it was an old building). when we got in the room, the smell of an old peoples home continued along with the outdated and tatty furniture. bedding looked worn and faded, ripped bed base and hairs in bed, shower, toilet and sink. but the nail in the coffin was the whole room was the bed tiltes backwards because the floors was way off being level, so much so they had to put 2 pieces of carpet underneath the wardrobe to stop it falling over. there was also no safety lock on the window and when your that high up i think you need it. this would not be so bad if you was not paying £90 a night to stay there which we ended up cutting our losses and leaving without saying a word to the manager because we didnt want to feel obligated to stay. this is this worst hotel we have ever stayed in, ever. in comparison we have stayed in a hotel called Senlac in the same area for £67.00 a night which is emaculate in cleanliness and decor.

Room was very clean and had view of the sea although it was on the top floor and if you had the window open there was noise from the road. Breakfast was good although it would have been nice to have cereal if you didn't want cooked breakfast.
