Great friendly hosts. Super clean room with everything and more that you need for your stay. Excellent choice of breakfast cooked to order. Free parking on site with limited places.plenty of street parking available. Have stayed here before and found it faultless.i wil be back hopefuly.

The whole property inside and out was top notch, room had everything we wanted/needed with comfy bed and chairs as well as amazingly fantastic decor. Didn’t want to come out the lovely shower, our dog Ruby too loved the love she got from hosts and guests. Every item had a great story behind it and explained by Steve or Joe. Comfort all round, location great and free parking right outside our room window. Breakfast cooked to perfection with everything available as well as mouth watering vegetarian options. Home baked cakes all day everyday, fantastic priced bar with anything you should desire. £15 for evening dinner if you order day before includes desert and drink. Oh the company of the hosts and guests was fantastic made new friends and yes when we go to Torquay again it has to be Garway Lodge I can also use my genius points to discount and other add ins. Lovely seating area amongst the front garden surrounded with flowers and plants. I could write a book about the positivity of Garway Lodge. Steve and Joe we thank you see you very soon

After a long day of walking the coastal path I was instantly grateful for this charming BnB and wonderful hosts. My room was fully stocked with goodies (incl. homemade cake and complimentary drinks) and beautifully decorated. I sat in the lounge with a well stocked honesty bar before dinner, and was offered dinner recommendations. It was a great comfortable night’s sleep, with a perfect breakfast the next morning. I was offered lots of top ups and was even sent away for the day with a bag with fruit, water and more cake. I’d highly recommend the very reasonable rates and lovely hospitality at Garway Lodge.

Over the years we have stayed at many excellent B&B’s but none have reached the level of excellence Joseph and Steve have achieved. In my option, what gives them the edge is the passion they put into achieving the perfect stay for their guests. Steve’s freshly baked cakes, one of which is placed in your room every day. The luxurious bathrobe as standard, a very high level of cleanliness throughout and a shower that works perfectly - a rarity in my opinion! The excellent breakfast, made to order while you wait. Delicious packed lunches, again made to order. Nothing is too much trouble. I would have no hesitation in recommending this particular B&B if Torquay is your destination.

The hosts are extremely friendly, and go out of their way to enhance the guest experience. Nothing is too much trouble. From Fresh Milk, OJ and other complementary drinks and snacks to even giving me a piece of flapjack and a Banana to keep me going on my daily travels for work. Outstanding! Great Value for money, and a great breakfast too.

There wasn't anything to dislike

We received such a warm and friendly welcome from Steve when we arrived at the B&B. He gave us a lovely introduction to the facilities, including a small but well-stocked honesty bar in the lounge, a beautiful breakfast room, and our light, airy king-size room (Room 3). I was genuinely blown away when we walked in. The room was stylish and quaint, with every little detail thought of — and more! Delicious homemade cake slices, crisps, biscuits, bottled water, and even cocktails in the fridge. There were also tea and coffee facilities, of course. The en-suite shower was hot and powerful, with high-quality, divine-smelling toiletries. We were provided with fluffy white towels, slippers, and cosy dressing gowns — such a luxurious touch. The bed was super comfy with crisp, luxurious bedding, and the whole room was spotlessly clean. There was even plenty of space for our little dog’s crate. Breakfast each morning was prepared by Joseph and was absolutely delicious. You place your order the night before, and it’s ready shortly after you’re served a pot of tea and hot toast. The spread included fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, condiments, and a variety of cooked breakfast options — including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan choices. Our dog was also treated to his own special cooked breakfast, which he loved! All three of us started our days happy and full. Steve was incredibly helpful with local tips. The train station is just a 6-minute walk away, and from Paignton you can easily catch a bus anywhere — very convenient. To top it all off, we were given a packed lunch on checkout! Water, fresh fruit, a cereal bar, and a homemade Jack Flap (which was delicious). We honestly didn’t want to leave — everything was above and beyond our expectations. We will definitely be back. A well-deserved 10/10!
