The Golden Sands

A friendly welcome. Clean comfortable room with a fridge (nice touch). Breakfast times were limited, which was a bit restrictive but maybe that was just us. Parking is on street and of three nights we only got to park on the street once, the other two were on nearby streets. Good location with a great pub at end of road that did really good food at great prices. Tram stop within a 5 minute walk. Good cooked breakfast.

It was a pleasure to stay at the Golden Sands. Angie was a very excellent host and the breakfast was fabulous.

When we got there we were told breakfast wasn’t included but I had checked with hotels.com when I booked it, that it was & the owners wanted £5 per breakfast from us. I phoned hotels.com immediately & spoke to 2 people there who confirmed a free breakfast was provided. I put hotels.com onto the owners twice to discuss but each time, the owners told hotels.com that it was not included. In the end hotels.com agreed to refund us the money subject to sending them the receipt. The visit did not start well & made me feel awkward. The mirror in the bathroom was too high for me, I could only see the upper part of my face in it (I am 5 ft 2 in). Where you hang your clothes was also too high for me. I could just about reach it on tip toe. The heating was on really early in the morning but went off at 8am so it felt cold. The owner said she would adjust it but don’t think it was changed as it was cold in the morning. There was no heating in the bathroom. She gave us a small heater but that didn’t work.

BAD attitude from the owner. She made us wait over an hour outside before checking in and we had to find somewhere for a toilet and when I finally got though to her she told me it's bed time and i wasnt getting in. I paid in full to then have to stay on the street! TERRIBLE SERVICE! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

Lovely B and B Angie really friendly nothing too much trouble. Would stay here again when in Blackpool x

The proprietress was kind enough to contact me on my arrival date to check my time of arrival, before going out. She also made me an earlier than usual breakfast on my day of departure.
