The Saracens Head Hotel

The beds were reasonably comfortable and we had a private bathroom.

The radiator was on full when we arrived in the room and also broken so the owner had to turn off the heating for us. The ensuite was very small and very old. The furniture was tatty and bare minimum. All in all barely a 2 star. Cheap and I guess you get what you pay for!

Staff, location, bar and restaurant facilities, all excellent

It is a bit too pricey, as an example a basic panini with a handful of crisps is £12.50

The shower in kings suite was rather interesting

A little noisy outside my room during the day - could have been an air con unit but nothing serious.

There wasn't always someone at the front desk, so a few times one had to go hunting for someone to answer a question ... the room also has only one main outlet, and it wasn't near the bed, so charging and using the phone from the bed didn't work....

Really lovely place, friendly and really nice old worldly feel to the building- Location is great, and a real time capsule of a town. I wish more places were like this.
