It is like living, literaly, on the cathedral's grounds. So much history. If you like history, you will be living it here.

"2 Star with a 5 Star location"

This is a very quirky hotel built into 800 years of history. So it has to live with funny shaped rooms, odd corridors, and very steep stairs. The room we had faced the street not the Cathedral so we missed the view but were saved from the full force of the bells. The room was comfortable, as was the bed. The showroom small but functional and the whole place had just had a lick of new paint so looked ok. The mattress didn't have a cover/protector just a sheet straight onto the mattress, a pet hate of mine. The breakfast choice was limited to some cereals, toast , and a veg or meat english breakfast, ok nothing special. Remember this is a 2 Star place with a great back garden Well Cathedral.
