Borthalan Hotel

Lovely owners, breakfast was Greta and the hotel is in a great location. The view from our room was gorgeous.

Stayed here for the October half term with my wife and I could not fault our stay. Hosts went out of their way to ensure we were happy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was exquisite and the room with a sea view was absolutely gorgeous. Incredibly pleased with our stay, the hotel is not far from anything and the hosts knowledge of the area and suggestions of all the hidden little gems (cafe’s, art shops etc) was extra helpful. Definitely would recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

We loved our stay, the room was clean and comfortable with the most amazing shower! Martin and Margaret with such lovely hosts and made us feel so welcome and completely safe in these strange times. The hotel is a short walk from Carbis Bay shops,restaurants and beach. It is also a 2 minute walk from Carbis Bay Train station where you can go straight to St. Ives in a matter of minutes. Highly recommend!!

Our hosts were absolutely fantastic. Very welcoming. the rooms were spotless, the shower was powerful and the beds extremely comfortable. The breakfast was also delicious.

Friendly hosts who spent time ensuring everything was ok. Great room, good breakfast, car park, good location to visit the area. Close to the railway station with little noise. The main thing is they care, offer advice for days out etc.

Very helpful and friendly hosts, who made us feel welcome from the moment we rang the doorbell!

Family run small hotel, 10mins from beach with local places to eat or near train station for st ives /Hayle

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Borthalan Hotel. The location was perfect, as soon as we arrived we were greeted with a breathtaking sea view and although we didn't pay for a sea view there was a wonderful view out the front with some chairs & table. The train station was a 2 min walk and we caught this into St Ives a few times which was a 4min journey for £1. We also walked it some days it was about 30-40 mins but a beautiful coastal walk. I will say there are lots of hills which were tough on day one but I was used to them by the end of the trip but the train option is great when you just want to get back. Our bedroom had an en suite bathroom, tea and coffee facilities and a TV. It was perfect for us as we were out all day and was nice to watch a little TV whilst unwinding before falling asleep. Our beds/towels were not changed during our 4 night stay because of Covid but this didn't bother us at all as was such a short stay. The cooked breakfast was delicious. Due to Covid we had to pre-book a slot which was OK for us but a little bit of an inconvenience if you want to be up and out early. The hosts were lovely. Very Friendly and welcoming and let us know where they were if we needed them so it was nice to come and go at our own leisure. This was our first trip away during Covid and we felt very safe. There was hand gel at the door. The communal living room was closed off and breakfast times scattered so we weren't all there at once. I would visit here again
