The breakfast and Sue who ran the kitchen and dining room was lovely. The quality and presentation of the breakfast was excellent. Thank you Sue.

Everything other than breakfast. The room was very tired, dated, scruffy and uncomfortable. Photos show stains on bathmat and carpet, mould. Torn curtains, cobwebs and dirty windows. Wobbly bed, noisy fridge (with no fresh milk). No bedside lights that worked. When we mentioned it to the owner he said they are about to redecorate that room. I am not normally particularly fussy but I don't know how he could drop his standards that low to rent out that room. It was disgusting and we most definitely won't go back.

Location

The property is in desperate need of renovation The smoke alarm was covered up by a plastic bag of some sort. A fan heater fastened to the wall in the bathroom did not look safe (if legal) and the pull cord switch for it was hanging off the ceiling. The list could go on!

The property was in a great location and had parking availability included.

The property was extremely outdated. The furniture in my room was very old and very worn. The bed was in a terrible condition. Dirty, stained, very noisy and rickety. The mattress was applauding. Very old, lumpy, dirty, stained and smelly. Everywhere smelt musty in the property from the moment you walked in. The bedroom carpet was so worn down it was hard floor in parts. The bed quilt and pillows were so stained and old.

The breakfast was tasty, plenty of fresh fruit.

Breakfast was perfect for us. The variety and quality of the fruit was exceptional and soft boiled eggs perfect. The house is well placed to either walk into Oxford or catch one of many buses. The Chinese restaurant 10 minutes walk away is outstanding.

There was nothing that we didn’t like as had a large room away from the busy road. The furniture and decor are dated but this didn’t affect us at all. The room and bedding were clean.
