Friendly and helpful. Easy walk to shops and restaurants. Excellent hot breakfast.

Just home after staying at Green Gables for 3 nights. Cannot fault the service and Gilly, Carol and Alex are a very friendly team who go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome. Room was very comfortable and en suite was great. Breakfast was fun every day with Gilly and Carol. Lovely breakfast which set us up for the day. As we were staying 3 nights we parked in the car park opposite the guest house - £19.80 for a 3 day ticket which was valid for all the carparks in Windermere and in Bowness.

My two sisters and I staid for 2 nights and loved it. The staff are so nice you can have a bit of banter with them especially at brakefast,and speaking of brakefast it was a huge plate full fresh toast juice and cereal well worth getting out of bed for sets you up for the day. The room had two singles and a double and the beds were very comfortable and a TV, loads of storage and tea and coffee. I will defo be back and would stay there any time I am there. Thank you especially to the girls they made the stay for me.xx

You get what you pay for and description was accurate. Basic accommodation but good enough for one night. Also good that they offer family room and 1 night stay. Free parking on road was full but one road down we found space. Just a few mins walk away

Stayed just the one night., but could have stayed longer ! We were in room 5 on the top floor with en suite . Only a small room but perfect for our stay . Comfy bed , clean and cosy . Shower was fine too . Tea , coffee etc all available in rooms too . We arrived early and called in to tell them we were there but would be ‘checking in ‘ later . Carole gave us our key , though our room wasn’t ready ( we didn’t expect it to be) . Breakfast was lovely. Ample food and very friendly and cheery staff ! Would certainly recommend, and will try to stay again . It’s in a great location. Street parking is available , though there were no spaces when we arrived . We parked on the car park across the street. Cost us £8 for an overnight stay ( 8am- 8pm is free , so this gets taken into account when you buy the ticket) Stayed in several small b&bs in and around Windermere, this was the cheapest , and by no means not the worst . Will be back hopefully !

This was going to be the nicer BnB on my vacation, it was not a good experience. The hosts were nice, but basically MIA. The only way to get thier attention is to ring the door bell. Be prepared for crazy stairs. My room was two flights up and the second set was extremely steep. I couldn't get my luggage up the stairs and the hosts wouldn't take it upstairs for me so I had to leave it downstairs. The bathroom was on the other side of the hall, which is not very comfortable and not convenient at all. (I would expect this from a hostel, not a BnB.) Probably just an issue in my room, but the door would not open easily, it would get stuck on the carpet every time. Expect thin walls, I could very clearly hear the guests in the room nextdoor.
