Great place, great area. I'd stay here again.

This was one of the few places that allowed 1 night stay over the weekend, which is a huge plus. There’s on street car parking but spaces are tough to get. We ended up using the car park opposite the guest house and this cost £18 for 24hours. It’s pretty much in the heart of Windermere and approx 20 minute walk down to Bowness. The guest house itself was lovely and warm, which was great as it was snowing outside. The rooms are spacious, comfortable & clean. Breakfast was delightful and served by two lovely ladies, who couldn’t do enough for you. We were celebrating a birthday amongst us and much to our amusement, the ladies served one of the breakfast’s with a candle in it whilst singing happy birthday. It was a lovely gesture. We’ll definitely come back to stay here again in the future

Lovely guest house with delicious breakfast served by a very friendly team if Alex and Gillian (the wild Irish lady!) thanks for a lovely time and being such fun.

Stayed here for 4 nights. The stay and experience surpassed all expectations! We stayed in the family room with a bathroom only for our use located opposite the room (which was not an issue at all). We had a delicious full (vegetarian) breakfast each morning that was accompanied with friendly conversations with the hosts, who made a clear effort to entertain and attend to all of their guests. I did say I would give a special shout out to the "lovely ginger Northern Irish lass", aka Gilly, who was a barrel of laughs and made the most perfect fried eggs every morning! On top of all of this, there was an extra and unexpected surprise for each room on Valentine's day, with a gift of chocolates, drinks and candles. I honestly could not recommend this place enough. Thank you so much for a delightful stay.

A friendly, cosy stay with a delicious breakfast. I stayed one night at Green Gables which is located a short walk into Windermere, so is ideal for eating out and exploring the town. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything I needed for my short stay. Everyone was so kind and friendly.

Arrived here for one night not far from the centre of town, We were greeted by Carole who was very friendly and funny , the room was very clean, lovely fluffy towels and fresh linen on the bed , We were given a key to let ourselves in after our night out in Windermere, Breakfast was included which was a full English as much toast as you liked, tea and coffee refills with fresh orange juice to hand , The ladies serving breakfast were lovely and made sure you were happy they couldn't have done anymore for us , we had such a laugh we were made to feel so welcome and at ease, we left with a full stomach and a smile on our face , we recommend this property as it ticks all the right boxes, Thankyou to all the ladies at the Green Gables Guest House from Lisa , Andrew, Chris , Lindsey from Preston

Friendly staff and excellent cooked breakfast

Stayed here for 2nights whilst attending a wedding in Windermere on arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome by the lovely Carol, we stayed in room 7 on the top floor it was clean, lovely fresh clean bedding, tea/coffee making facilities always a bonus, no en suite but our bathroom was facing our room allocated for our use only was just perfect, breakfast 10/10 lovely hot full English home made yogurt gorgeous. A big thank you to the ladies in the breakfast room aways cheery and had us laughing sorry can't remember your names but certainly won't forget you 🙂 would we stay here again 💯 yes.

Above average guest house. Liked breakfast room and service, also sugar served properly instead of those awful motorway service area packets! Gripes - room door doesnt open properly - apparently blamed on new carpet!. Also dingy room lighting.
