Great food, steak cooked to perfection on Saturday afternoon and the best full English breakfast we have had for a long time. Our room was lovely and clean and the bed was very comfy, was very peaceful and we had a good night sleep. But best of all was the warm welcome we received from Carly and her team, we mingled with the locals and we were made to feel so welcome. Plus Buster the dog is adorable, we will definitely go back 😊

The location of the inn was ideal for our plans that day. The welcome was friendly; the room was good for us and dog; the supper and choice of drinks excellent; and breakfast first class. Best I have had out for a long time. Everybody was very social and will be a future stop off in the future. Black and white dog loved it; and my daughter in Braintree was well impressed

Really friendly staff and nothing is too much trouble

We came for a wedding just up the road and this b&b was perfect for us. The rooms were surprisingly big and the bed comfy - shower was slightly dated but for only £85 was great for us. Would recommend turning up the heating in the rooms - we arrived at 1pm and was slightly cold! The complimentary cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious and staff were friendly

We stayed here to attend a wedding nearby and was very disappointed with our room, the carpet was filthy and the shower was a bit mouldy and dated. There was only one bedside table and a tiny television. The barmaid/receptionist had said that all the rooms had been refurbished but surely a new carpet is essential?!! (I didn't take my shoes off in the room). Unfortunately, the walls were so thin that we could here the people above us having a short bit of fun before the man was snoring! We had a laugh about the experience but would not stay again and felt it should have been cheaper for the standard of room.

The bed was extremely comfortable, but there were several problems with the room. The shower had no hot water, which was ironic as the hot tap was scolding! Added to that the water smelled and there were no toiletries. The breakfast was quite nice and the owners friendly. A warning if you need a taxi though, book in advance- the entire area seems to be served by one car!

WiFi... Dont work in room £75 does not get you a cooked breakfast, or continental, you get cereal and toast, extra £6 pounds a person for cooked. No hair dryer, iron or ironing bored in room. Hot water in shower... let it run for 10mins first! You can hear people in next room speaking no sound proofing in walls For 75 pounds with no wifi or cooked breakfast this place lets itself down.

You feel welcome straight away, Not was to much for them!!! Highly recommended they home made pies :) Clean rooms nice food nice people and it was cheap!! :)

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The rooms had all been nicely refurbished, I'd booked a single room but it now has a double bed which was a nice surprise. Very clean and bright. Plenty of parking and good breakfast!
