The Royal Station Hotel

First visit, whilst diving at Capenwray and will not be the last. Staff are exceptional, food was very nice at at a good price. Shower was exceptuonal

I stayed at the Royal Station Hotel in Carnforth and, unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The whole place feels shabby and dated, even though the room and bathroom themselves were clean.

I stayed at the Royal Station Hotel in Carnforth and, unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The whole place feels shabby and dated, even though the room and bathroom themselves were clean. The biggest issue was the heat. The room was extremely hot, and the window had been screwed shut, so there was no way to let in any fresh air. A fan was provided, but it was so weak it made no real difference. Small details added to the frustration — a crooked shelf that caused anything placed on it to slide off, and no hair dryer in the room. The restaurant being closed, despite being advertised as open, was another major let‑down. they replied on TA that the restaurant was open this is an outright lie and they also said they would make a sandwich which was not offered, After a long journey, having to drive to the next village just to get a meal was the last thing we wanted. the stay was let down by poor maintenance, lack of basic amenities, and inaccurate information about food availability. I wouldn’t rush back.

Lovely staff on reception, in the bars and at breakfast. Bright, airy room with a fabulous shower. Excellent food.

When asking if a taxi could be booked for me was told by the male receptionist “ we don’t do that this is the 21st century” quite uncalled for
