We found the room to be extremely small—likely the smallest we have ever stayed in. In addition, the layout was quite awkward. The window had been screwed shut and the room temperature was very hot. Beer garden was nice, just couldn’t sit outside in the nice weather due to a big skip filled with rubbish

Nice old hotel that sits in the middle of Carnforth, the room has been refurbished, with a decent shower room en suite. The food was very good, I had dinner and breakfast, both spot on. If you are a fan of the great film A Brief Encounter, the next door station is where it was shot. The buffet is very much as was and there is a visitor centre and a bistro.

Parking is on street, but I had no problem.

Grand old hotel - needs a bit of tlc for example the doors to the rooms. But all good xx

Had to move room as the original room was too hot and the doors to the balcony could not be opened- so our original room was stuffy. Room we moved to was smaller and noisy from street noise.

Convenient stopover prior to the start of our Lancaster Canal path walk. Evening meal was enjoyable and breakfast was very good. No complaints.
