Very comfortable room and friendly service.

South Brent is a good location from which to get to Dartmoor or the Devon coast. The town itself has little to offer. The pub provides all one's basic needs, the service was friendly and the breakfast excellent.

The rooms decor was a very dated and a little scruffy. I don’t think a lot of care had been taken in cleaning the room as I found a current/raisin on the floor...it could still be there. I have attached a photo for inspection. My room was above the bar with the noise going on well past midnight. I didn’t have a too early start so not so bad. I also decided to stay at a pub so had to expect a certain amount of noise. The bed was comfy but a little musty but I slept well. The breakfast was the best thing about the stay. The landlord was a little put out when I asked for decaf coffee which was brought in a knackered cafeteria. Overall I don’t feel like I got good value for the money.

This Inn is situated in an excellent location close to Dartmoor and the coast! Comfortable rooms with everything you require. The food, both breakfast and dinner was excellent, cooked to order and tasty. Very good value for money, would certainly return if in the area! :D

A fantastic friendly place - Old but well kept property. Being old the floors were at some strange angles. Breakfast was well cooked and pleasant.

The pub was very loud and busy on arrival. The four poster bedroom looked shabby and not what we expected for almost £100 for the night, the windows were filthy and the shower was pathetic. It advertised Wifi we could not get a connection at all.

The rooms were lovely with great views. The food was also nice homemade pub grub. Would definitely stay there again.

We booked The Packhorse as a stop over en route to Cornwall. Friendly staff and good food, especially the Full English breakfast. The pub itself is a little dated however the room was decorated to a high standard and the bed was huge! Would stay here again.
