Port Stephens Motel

Location was excellent and the staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and the parking for cars was very good and undercover.

The property itself was very run down. The basin had a lot of age cracks, the sliding bolt at the top of the door was broken, the main light switch was almost hidden behind a cupboard, and the seats on the verandah were full of rust as were some parts of the room. We thought it was overpriced when the above is considered.

Comfortable beds and lovely fresh linen and soft thick towels.

Room was small and bathroom very dated.

Location was fantastic

The room smelt of cigarette smoke, it had mould in the shower and spiders in the bed. Not to mention the state of the bathroom basin it was meant to be white but was all black around the drain and had not been cleaned for some time. I would not recommend it and was way overpriced. Only got 1 pillow and when we asked for more we were told that’s all you get. Doors being slammed all night and people talking and smoking just horrible

Back verandah was grubby

I thought I was on the set of a US motel horror film. This place is grim! Looking at old photos of this place stating it was a dire need of renovation and its still the same. Light switches hidden behind home made cupboards, old painted walls around old toilet cistern, missing drawer handles, garden furniture in room, rock hard beds, taps that make filling the kettle impossible (without using another vessel to transfer the water), mould in the bathroom, dirt on skirting boards. Need I continue? Unsure where all these good reviews came from. Maybe there are other rooms that are a secret to other guests.

The rooms need a renovation to up date .not the seventy

Could not sit outside to much moss on the floor , outside need a big cleaning
