Port Stephens Motel

Location was great but can't say much else too good about this place. The bed was OK and the room technically had everything we needed.

Very outdated, tired and in a general state of disrepair. Not enough car parking, the patio needs a good clean, shower curtain gross. Fridge froze everything in it

Kettle, microwave and toaster provided, so making breakfast was easy and cheaper then going out. It was a motel so breakfast not included. Had Netflix etc if you had accts - that was good. It was quiet and the curtains were black out ones and for the first time ever i slept in til 10am one day. Owner came each morning to see if need anything and take rubbish.

Bathroom was filthy, mould on walls/bathroom tiles and floor dirty. Easy for cleaners to clean and make a basic cleanliness standard. Outdoor patio (very small) was also covered in dirt, spider webs and mouldy, couldn't comfortably sit out there on chairs also covered in cobwebs and dirt. The little bar fridge did not keep anything anywhere near cold, had to get chilly bin & ice. Blanket on bed was dirty. Really poor cleaning. If that was to a higher standard and actually used proper cleaning products and carpets steamed, you could comfortably say not bad for price. We couldn't wait to get out there & come home. I did get some bites on me although I was not sure if was from - bed, mozzies/pelican itch from swimming - once home I don't have the itch. Questionable if from bed 🤔. Husband had to kill cockroach in bathroom.

Key code for the door and was not given the numbers. No one at reception. If it wasn’t for a cleaner still there when we turned up at 2pm we would not have been able to get in.
