Alnwick Lodge West Cawledge Park

It was different. I would say a little quirky but in a good way.

A little dated and access from the main road which was alongside could be risky due to fast traffic. Would benefit from more sineage identifying the property from the dual carriageway!

An unusual hotel - delightful in it's antiquey way with a great atmosphere.

The hotek is approached direct from the A1M - initially quite difficult to locate but once thrte masses of parking space.

Quirky

The properly was beautiful and nothing like anywhere we have stayed before. It was next to a busy road but it was very quiet and peaceful. The rooms were comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was included, there was lots of lovely food to choose from!

My kids didn’t like that the tv was small but that was a con for us adults so we didn’t mind. The shower could have been a bit more powerful as well but everything else was perfect.

Location.

We had a dog. We had to pay £15 per night for the dog when we arrived. I would have rather known that cost prior to booking the stay. When we went for breakfast, dogs were not allowed in the main dining area. This was fine but there was not really an alternative. Staff tried to put us in a reception room on settees and a make shift table. This was not acceptable.

Beautiful and quirky, hosts were lovely and the breakfast was delicious. Bed was comfy.

Smell from the bathroom drains meant I had to keep the door shut but it was the only window that opened (the eves windows don’t open) so it was a bit stuffy overnight. If it had been a warmer night it would have been uncomfortable. Bathroom very very small.
