"Would stay again, and just ask for a different room."

7.0

It is very interesting, and full of curiosities. The flowers and plants were exceptional. We enjoyed the layout and our room was spacious and unique. Really clean, and beautiful.

The room we were in had two boilers in cupboards, this made it very warm and there was no fan, and with only one side having windows to open, so no means to cool down. There was no mention that our room would only have a bath, no shower.

"Really, really lovely would definitely book again and recommend to others."

The hotel had a very cottagey feel to it. The courtyard was beautiful with all the flowers. Lots of birds about. Check in was between 4-6pm, no problems with that There is a code for the gate if you go out somewhere and come back after 10pm Lovely quirky, cosy rooms, the beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and no cobwebs! Soap, shower gel, and towels all provided. There was also a hair dryer and a TV in the rooms. Showers were very good. Plug sockets in all the rooms, lamps and wall lights. We had 3 rooms - a double, a twin, and a double with a pull out bed. We had 2 rooms off the main courtyard at ground level, and one room up some stairs off the courtyard. The upstairs room only had a bath - a lovely free standing bath - no shower. So we used a shower in the other rooms we had booked. A folder of information was provided which was excellent and had information about the hotel, local area and it's history Excellent home cooked breakfast from 7:45am with other options including cereal, fruit, toast, croissants, yoghurt, juice tea & coffee Very lovely staff, all helpful Easily accessible off the main road, and five minute drive into Alnwick. A few minutes away were some shops and petrol stations.

One of the rooms had a pinprick ceiling leak - which the lady did tell us about, however, in the morning it was dripping into the toilet. So a dripping noise early in the morning and you got wet when you use the toilet! Our room, the red bath room, was soooo hot at night. It had the boilers in and a heated towel rail that was on all night. Some through ventilation is essential we had to sleep with the door open Mains sockets with built in USB phone chargers are less than £10 at Screwfix I expect every hotel room to have at least one

We liked the remote location but it was still only a few minutes drive into Alnwick. The staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating.

No issues are all
