Beautiful apartment, all mod cons, huge bedroom. Comfortable and quiet

Town had little to offer in terms of bars or restaurant options

We absolutely loved our night away. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. We have stayed in many places but the cleanliness of this place was amazing! The cottage was spotless and was fitted with everything you would need. The staff are lovely, and everything is made so easy from check-in to check out. The location is gorgeous, with lovely walks surrounding the house that ourselves, the kids, and our dog enjoyed. We will be back.

The location was lovely and we really enjoyed the view of the river from the riverside room. The shower was excellent. Lovely, big fluffy towels in the bathroom. Nice bathroom products. There was an electric toothbrush charger in the bathroom, very handy. The lady serving dinner was lovely and had great craic. The food was fine - a hearty dinner and generous portions at breakfast - but I wouldn’t choose to dine there again if I was given the choice.

I’m honestly struggling to review this place as we found it a bit strange and I can’t quite put my finger on why. The welcome was ok but I wouldn’t describe it as a warm welcome. The riverside room was ok but felt a bit like a youth hostel - sparsely furnished and like function was more important than aesthetic. It didn’t feel at all cosy. It was nice to have a fridge so we could have fresh milk in our tea, but it would have been even nicer if there was already a little jug of milk in the fridge and we didn’t have to go back outside and round to the reception in the dark to ask for one. The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. Not sure if it was just that we were there in the quiet season, but the whole place seemed a bit outdated and a bit depressing if I’m honest. I think it’s listed as 4 stars here on Booking, but it didn’t live up to that at all.
