Kyoto Hotel SANOYA

The location is so close to Kyoto station therefore you have easy access to a lot of destinations. They have great amenities. The public bathhouses were nice and a good experience. The room was lovely and the futon was cozy.

There was a small tear in the wallpaper of the room’s private toilet.

Excellent location with many restaurants, train station, observation tower and a large temple within easy walking distance! The breakfast was huge with lots of variety! I really liked the attention to detail and the staff are friendly and helpful. They offer a verity of free beverages, even beer! Do the communal hot bath and wear your kimonos for breakfast! They are basically just empty rooms made up of straw mats, and thin futon mattress floor bedding. They also include a choice of a kimono (a traditional Japanese robe), a dinner and/or a breakfast with a communal hot pool. It was a nice multiple story building and we got two rooms, one for Nadia and I and the other for the kids. First thing in the morning I decided to do it! After initially deciding not to do it the day before, I talked myself into it. I’m here now and it will be my only chance ever to experience another Japanese tradition: a communal hot bath–and you go naked. There was a separate one for men and women down in the basement. As I entered, there was a sign with instructions on how to do it: you first have to wash and rinse yourself off before you get in." The thin traditional floor shikibuton/futon mattress--it was hard for me to sleep because I was not use to it (but not the hotel fault). However I wish they had an optional latex memory foam padding to place under it would make people happier and more restful the next day! :-)

Kaiserin Küche sehr abwechslungsreich und lecker - allerdings viel zu große Portionen, viel zu viel Fleisch Super-freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Sehr gute zentrale Lage, trotzdem nicht zu laut. Die Bad Abteilung. Die kostenlosen Getränke in der Lobby.

Der Wasserkocher war primär zur Teezubereitung, für Kaffee war das Wasser nicht richtig heiß genug - wir haben allerdings auch nicht nach einem anderen Gerät gefragt ..... Das Roykan ist in die Jahre gekommen, eine professionelle Sanierung / Modernisierung steht an. Typisch für Japan ist, daß die Geschäftsführung - hier schon mal ECHTE Grüße aus Deutschland - stets auf Kritikpunkte eingeht [zum Beispiel fehlende Haken in den Zimmern], auch irgendwie Besserung gelobt, aber anscheinend nicht konkret aktiv wird ... stattdessen wird landesüblich weg-gelächelt und um Verständnis geworben .... Das POSITIVE hat allerdings bei weitem die kleinen Kritikpunkte überwogen!!

Super emplacement, très grande chambre, personnel disponible et gentil. Très bel hôtel. Machine à laver dispo hyper pratique. Onsen exceptionnel

Rien sauf mon séjour dans cet établissement trop court!!!

Les futons sont très confortables, trrs bon amplacement, proche de la gare, de la tour de Kyoto, des konbinis Le repas du soir typique japonais était excellent!

Camera tipica e bella spaziosa. Ottima posizione per la partenza da kyoto vista la vicinanza alla stazione ma leggermente distante dai punti d interessa. Comunque consigliata

Superb location near Kyoto Station. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good Onsen facilities.

Pillows too small and not supportive enough. Rooms can do with doorbells. Squeezy for 2 adults 2 children.
