Hartnoll Hotel

We travel to The Hartnoll Hotel twice a year for a family meal and have done for 10 years or so. We have always had excellent service and amazing food. Nelson and the restaurant team are always faultless and so welcoming. We honestly couldn’t fault it.

What a perfectly run hotel. Very relaxing sitting under an umbrella, soaking up the beautiful garden. The food was top class. In the evening we sat in the lounge for a pub meal, and it was great. The room was beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. Staff were very welcoming.

Booked the Hotel for a 92nd birthday party for my partners mother last weekend for 16 people including children from three generations. A wonderful time was had by all. The food was exceptional, well done Chef. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay again.

We had our wedding reception here 27 years ago and treated ourselves to an overnight stay with dinner, breakfast and an hour in the spa. This is what excellent customer service looks like, when we arrived on Sunday, the lady that greeted us was just a customer service best practice exemplar and just so lovely - a huge thank you to you for making our stay so special. The dinner and breakfast were superb, as was Pimms on the lawn and the spa. 100% recommend. Spotlessly clean and comfortable - a real treat.

We booked a two night stay in a standard room to break our journey home from Cornwall, on arrival we were pleased to be told we had been given an upgrade. The room was dominated by a huge bed ! Bed linen and towels were lovely but the bath / shower were the worst we have ever encountered, the shower was over the bath and involved climbing in over the very high side with no handles anywhere, we would describe ourselves as pretty agile but we really struggled. The bed was very comfortable but the noise from the car park outside our window, from staff arriving at 5.00 am then deliveries and noise from the road was unacceptable. Then at 6.00 am there was knocking in the water pipes that went on intermittently until we got up. Breakfast was lovely, but the conservatory was very noisy. The staff were excellent, really good customer service, but we decided, after very little sleep to forgo our second night and it is highly unlikely we would consider staying again.

We had the most delightful stay at The Harnoll Hotel. The included breakfast we ordered was the best we have received in any hotel. Cooked to order, no buffet, a fine dining experience. All the staff at were so friendly and helpful. Our bedroom and bathroom was excellent and the hotel is very attractive with a large beautiful garden, with plenty of areas to eat and drink outside. Highly recommended.

We came upon this hotel looking for lunch on a bank holiday weekend. We had zero expectation of a table but were pleasantly surprised to be accommodated in the conservatory. Food was excellent. Staff attentive, table nicely laid. Was also impressed to see at some table they were just having soup and a roll or sandwiches and were just as well welcomed. We had starters and mains; an excellent mackerel dish and a delicious duck confit that just fell from the bone

Super hotel on the outskirts of Tiverton. From start to finish we had excellent and courteous service. Our room (2) was compact, clean and had a very comfortable bed with crisp linen, the bathroom was smart and clean with a large shower. (Note to hotel: please put a mirror, preferably long, in the bedroom as it’s inadequate to have only the bathroom mirror when getting ready.) The restaurant was very good indeed, the quality and selection of food and wine was great as was the attentive service. Breakfast was tasty and the selection provided ample choice for all. Afternoon tea on the lawn was delightful. Parking onsite was a bonus. (A mention also for Frankie’s Taxis. As we were there to attend a wedding on the other side of town we pre-booked taxis to and from the venue and the service was excellent and on time.)

Fantastic spa hotel, in beautiful Devon. Booked a trip at last minute, a get away whilst my husband is recovering from cancer. The staff were incredibly accommodating for his dietary requirements, making us feel pleased that we came. The suite we booked had a self contained lounge and kitchenette, this was perfect for us to deal with his medication.

We attended for an evening meal to celebrate my partners birthday, we have been several times before. Usually the service is superb and the food phenomenal, however this evenings experience was far off that mark !!. The food usually is a la carte but was at best mediocre gastro pub, and the service not attentive for an expensive experience. We noticed that the staff were rude to customers which is something we have never witnessed there before. Not our usual experience and not terribly impressed.
