Hartnoll Hotel

My husband booked a 4 night stay here as a birthday treat for me after a difficult couple of months. The communication prior to arrival was good and from the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed by the lovely lady on reception (sorry I didnt catch her name). Every member of staff we met was professional, polite and helpful. This included the restaurant manager and waiting staff. The room was lovely and we had a truly relaxing break due to the professional and friendly staff and great view from our room. Amber in the Spa was great and made me feel at ease during my treatments. Although the hotel was lovely, it was the staff who made our break so special. We will definitely be returning.

My husband and 1 spent 4 delightful nights here whilst attending my stepmothers funeral last week in great comfort and style I honestly could not fault it it as such a great experience the hotel was like a warm hug at a very difficult time for my family and 1 the staff warm and welcoming and our every need was catered for The breakfast lunches and dinner a very high standard using fresh local products and imaginative dishes nothing old fashioned about this place all set in beautiful surroundings close to town and country and central to all Devon’s hotspots We will return

I booked my 60th birthday lunch on Saturday 7th December in the Small Atrium and we also had the cocktail bar next door. The food was delicious, all the staff were excellent, and a special thank you must go to Nelson who could not do enough to make sure everything ran smoothly and ensure that everybody was looked after and all our needs met. He and all the staff are a credit to the Hartnoll. The Hartnoll were so accommodating and all my guests had nothing but praise for a lovely lunch and afternoon spent there. I would not hesitate to recommend a visit.

A Sunday lunch time visit for 4 adults. From being shown to our reserved table to leaving the service was of a very high standard. We all enjoyed mains & a couple of desserts, again the quality of food was at a very high standard, excellent. The toilets were clean and tidy as well. Would certainly recommend a visit on a Sunday for lunch. Just a little moan, maybe the car park could do with some attention ( potholes ) 👍

So I’ve stayed here a few times and each time gets worse. The hotel looks great from the outside but is very dated inside and whoever does the interior design it’s awful. Food is also very dated and tasteless. Service wasn’t so bad. Spa is obviously a new thing after a 5 year wait refurb but does look nice but very small area. Reception was very poor and seemed like they didn’t want to help, seemed to always be chatting to each other. Overall experience was very poor for the money you pay. Won’t be staying again!!

Newly reopened Spa Maroc is a lovely relaxing spa at The Hartnoll Hotel. My mum & I went today and had a wonderful facial and back massage by lovely therapists Charlotte and Star. The decor and atmosphere is very calming, After the treatments we went down to the thermal suite. In there is a lovely Hot Sauna with coals, a Jacuzzi & Hot Stone Beds. We can highly recommend treating yourself to something nice at The Maroc Spa

We stayed here with our classic vehicle group, its a lovely traditional Hotel. All the staff were amazing. Nelson puts a smile on everyone's face. Food was excellent. Gardens and Hotel are immaculate, although carpark needs some attention to fill in potholes. Our room was a cosy double, it was beautifully done and bed was very comfortable. Bathroom and shower was still a good size considering the smaller bedroom size. A very enjoyable weekend.

Nice hotel but room was very warm and very compact, no fan in the room but instead a massive kitchen extractor fan right outside the window which was running until 11.00pm and back on at 6.30am!! No forewarning of this when making the booking. So choice was warm, stuffy room or cooler noisy room!

We have stayed at Hartnoll a number of times including for several family events. The hotel is gorgeous, the food is delicious especially the breakfast, the team are wonderful and we always have a fantastic time. Special thanks to Claire Lofts who always looks after us so well. We look forward to returning soon.

My friend and I came for a spa treat and Sunday lunch. What a perfect relaxing day we had. Mollie and Eve in the spa were lovely and gave us the perfect treatment. Had a drink sat out in the beautiful garden and we ended up having our roast lunch sat outside. Delicious lunch and scrumptious dessert. Great service and wonderful surroundings. Definitely a place to visit, we will definitely go back.
