We chose this hotel due to its central location opposite the main railway station, and were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was (due to the good double glazing). Good sized rooms, very clean. The pull-out sofa bed was rather squeaky, otherwise very comfortable. Friendly efficient service at the reception desk and at breakfast.

The room had some marks on the walls and floors etc, but was pretty comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was a little small but it was fine. I had a room facing the main road, and with the windows shut there was very little noise, so I slept very well. The hotel is very close to the main train station and the inner area of the city. There was free Wifi. I and my colleague had problems connecting to the Wifi automatically, but figured out the correct settings and set it manually, and it was fine. Considering the location of the hotel, I think it is good value for money.
We didn't book a top of the range hotel and had a better room and service than expected. Staff very helpful. Plenty of space and cupboard space. Well located for a trip to Xmas market and historic Leipzig
The Hotel Royal Leipzig was excellent value for money. It was a friendly hotel and during our stay we were impressed by how quiet it was at night. The excellent breakfast included in the price was a real bonus. The location of the hotel close to the rail station and near to the centre of the old town was excellent .
The location of the hotel is excellent for seeing the inner city and easy to find driving into the city. Breakfast was very good. One drawback - If we discussed a problem with the desk personnel they would tell us to check back with them in the morning, but that person was usually not on duty for several more days, making it hard to resolve a problem.

Arrived at hotel to be told they had double booked and that there were no rooms available for us. They could move us to a "partner hotel" 10 minutes walk away and upgrade the rooms. We had little choice but to agree. After a 15 minute taxi ride we arrived at our hotel and our "upgraded" rooms. The hotel was in a a remote and rather run-down part of Leipzig and a long way from the centre which is where I had booked. The rooms were OK at best but were certainly not an upgrade of any sort and the windows were next to a busy tram line so very little sleep! I would never book at the Hotel Royal International in Leipzig - they are liars and cheats. Stay away.
Room was clean but really cheap. Wifi was as bad as you could possibly imagine. No signal, slow. Lost connection every few minutes.
Other than the really ugly red and green furniture and brocade things and putting green carpet, the hotel room is very large includes a full kitchen, has a modern clean look and comfy beds and great pillows. Excellent quality standard European breakfast with egg dishes, meat cheese muscli yogurt and a large WHOLE pot of decent coffee per person! Great location in easy walk of sights in old city and new museums. Wifi works great and fast!! Visit the history of DDR musuem downtown a few minutes walk from hotel.
