Hadrian Hotel - Inn

Although my room was clean and comfortable there was no way I could sleep with the noise from the plumbing, I realise the hotel is going through a refurbishment so I would not be to upset about it, staff were friendly and helpfull, I would probably stay again once it has been refurbished , I didn't eat at hotel but for wagtail I seen the food looked good and was presented on the plates excellently

Check in was delayed due to room cleaning being contracted out. Do not expect to arrive prior to 4:30pm, and check in at the bar on the right when you enter (not well marked). Staff appear blase. However, the food is amazing, and the kitchen was very accommodating to dietary restrictions for our dinner. The included breakfast is very comprehensive, as well as delicious! The room is spacious. Shower had poor temperature control and was mouldy. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel, including the AD122 Hadrians wall bus! Or, about a 35 minute walk to Chesters Roman Fort with some other Hadrians wall sight stops along the route.

This was not the hotel as had been shown on the internet. It was shabby and run down. Renovations and refurbishments may well have begun under the new management, but we did not experience any of it. It is misleading to advertise a hotel describing how it may well appear in the future.

The staff and food were amazing! Our room was clean with new bed curtains etc. The hotel is going through some renovations and once completed will make a huge difference. We would go back no problem!

We were so pleased to arrive here after a long day of walking on Hadrian's Wall. The position is great - just after St Oswald's church with all that history and we could have a relaxed breakfast to arrive at Chesters for opening time. It is certainly a "local" pub - great atmosphere and well trained & friendly staff.

Had a very good three night stay in June 2017. Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable rooms which were very clean. Abundant supply of hot water and good ensuite facilities. Generous provision of tea / coffee etc in the room. Excellent breakfast, very tasty and abundant. I dined in the restaurant in the evenings and was impressed by the chef prepared meals and the generous portions. I would certainly stay again when visiting the area. The beds were very comfortable with top quality bedding. Furnishings were of very good quality. A very good experience and I consider good value.

Our room had newly been decorated and the bathroom was all new, no complaints there. However the rest of the hotel and bar area were very dated and tired. When we stated we were going to leave before breakfast, possibly about 07.00am, we were given a key to unlock the pub door to let ourselves out, what if there had been a fire, how was everyone supposed to get out? also there was no fire plan in the room.

Friendly staff, good food, near the Hadrian wall for walking along.

Considering there was still renovations to be done the hotel was pleasant & comfortable except the shower which had a mind of it's own ! but I am assure it is now 1st on the handyman list. The Staff were a breath of fresh air. In a world so full of bad customer service Hadrians' staff are cheery, courteous & very accommodating. The Food was outstanding.

We stayed in the hotel on 6th May during an event walking Hadrians Wall. The hotel itself was lovely and appeared to be in the middle of having some works carried out. The young woman who served us when we arrived, had breakfast the next day and left was very helpful, doing multiple jobs at one time. The rooms were spotless and we definitely had a good sleep. Breakfast was ordered the night before and it was ready near enough as we sat down in the dining room. Great stay overall and would definitely visit again.
