"Really lovely"

10.0

Went there whilst walking along Hadrian's Wall. So after a day on our feet, we were treated to a cozy atmosphere with a great pint and excellent food with great people and service.

"Hadrian Called"

8.0

Nice wee hotel with great staff. It's clearly a work in progress job. Various holes in walls and loose electric towel rail in the room but hey ho its budget. Food was a real pleasant suprise. Quality very good with price and presentation to match. Bit of a mix up over price but the super young woman on reception and breakfast resolved it quickly, quietly and professionally with no fuss.

"We will return!"

8.0

Traditional or old-fashioned? That's down to taste. Ate supper in the bar. Excellent range and quality. Good value. A peaceful, comfortable stay despite rather conversational plumbing.

Very tired hotel, adequate for people who only want basic accommodation (mainly catering for walkers). Bedding clean. Room dusty. Bathroom not clean. Breakfast good.

"Brief stay!"

8.0

The Hadrian Hotel was very nice indeed, cosy and with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were very nice and helpful. Lovely views (through the Northumberland mist!) and in a great location near Hadrians Wall. Will definitely stay again when up in Northumberland.

"Great North Run"

8.0

Used this hotel as a base for the Great North Run. Excellent food and beer, plus we were given an early breakfast (6:30 am) on the Sunday morning before the race. We would willingly use this place again for a base to walk in the area.

"More like a poor B&B than a hotel"

6.0

it might have a bar and restaurant but everything else suggests it's more B&B than 3 star hotel. The staff are friendly and very informal! The hotel is tired and badly in need of updating. Our room looked as if it had just been vacated- the beds looked crumpled, there was a half used shampoo sample still on the bathroom shelf, the towels were like paper, and the general feel of the room pretty poor. We didn't have the cooked breakfast, which I'm sure would have been fine, but I must say that there was nothing wrong with range or taste of cereals and fruit available as an alternative.

In the bathroom, the bath did not work, nor could the staff get it work. The room was spacoius, but very dated and the hotel in general could do with decorating. The evening meal was very good, served in the bar.

"Very pleasant stay while walking the Wall Path"

10.0

Had a one-night stay at the Hadrian Hotel while walking the Wall, and really enjoyed it. Very accessible and accommodating -- I arrived early and my room was ready. Supper at the pub was quite good (incl. nice fresh veggies), full breakfast in the restaurant was terrific, packed lunch no problem. Shared bathroom was super-clean, newly renovated but still charmingly old-fashioned-looking. View from window across open fields was peaceful and picturesque. And the walk from the hotel to the Heavenfield church is so lovely!
