Hotel City Villach

surprisingly quiet for being in the center of the city and next to the rail station. The Nordsee eatery across the river was a great place to eat after work.

Architecturally uninspiring, this 1960s era hotel is acceptable value: It is well located (across from main train station), there's free parking in front of the hotel, Rooms facing away from the square are quieter and have fewer bright lights shining in the windows. Architecture is uninspiring, room furniture is functional but hardly stylish. WiFi worked well. Breakfast is a generous buffet, and includes hot and cold dishes, lots of breads, good choices of fruit, and is served early. Austrian (German-language) newspapers are available free.

We needed an over night stop in Villach to connect with a morning train to Venice - we had a late arrival into Villach and left early the next morning. Hotel City Villach was ideally placed as it's right across the road from the main train station. i never expect a lot from hotels located right next to railway stations, however this hotel was neat and well presented, and the staff were very friendly. The room was quite small for two people, however the breakfast buffet was great. We were mainly looking for convenience for our train connections, and Hotel City Villach more than met our needs.

It was really realyy good hotel and good positon

Brief one night stay. We chose this Hotel due to its location to train station,(across the street.) A nice place to spend an evening, temp in the room was very warm but we were able to open the windows. Quiet neighborhood, friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was sublime, fresh food, tremendous selection. English spoken, and understood well.

Nice place, friendly staff. Nice and close to station and in the center of the town, also a shop next door. I only stayed a night but would return for sure.

This is the fourth or fifth time we have stayed at Hotel City and we have always enjoyed it immensely. The staff are always extremely helpful and courteous and the rooms are always lovely. We have recommended this hotel to any of our friends asking about hotels in this area. We will be back again!

We picked this hotel based on its location close to the train station since we were only stopping overnight. However, area made us feel uncomfortable as there were a number of derelicts hanging around the square in front of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and recommended a pretty good restaurant nearby.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who travels to Villach. It's conveniently located next to the train station and very close to the city center, has parking, and the condition of this place is superb. My room was spotless, with big bright windows and lots of light. I could definitely stay at such a place for a week or even a month without any hesitation. It's best to have a car in Villach and drive around, there isn't that much to see on foot, but the old town is quite beautiful.

Best part of the City Hotel in Villach was the outstanding breakfast! They went out of their way to be helpful plus marked the various juices, jams, in English. Sautéed vegetables, fresh vegetables, a wide assortment of everything; bread, meats, juices, fresh and dried fruits. It was located right across from the train station and had an elevator to assist with luggage. The room was quite nice, but VERY small. Great wifi in the room and a terminal in the lobby. Friendly front desk staff.
