Amaya Lake is a lovely spot to unwind. The resort has an incredible view of the lake and is surrounded by nature. Our room was verry roomy, and clean. Moving around the resort was made much easier by the buggy car service. We loved the tranquil walks around the property and the best swimming pools. The WiFi was fast and quick, and food was tasty and varied. The staff was the highlight of our visit. Everyone was helpful, and always willing to lend a hand. We would especially like to thank the front desk staff and restaurant staff for their outstanding service. We will definitely return again.

A Truly Memorable Stay at Amaya Lake! We traveled as a Sri Lankan couple and chose Amaya Lake for a short getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the warm welcome from the front office team. Their friendliness, professionalism, and attention to detail immediately made us feel comfortable and valued. Our room was spacious, beautifully kept, and offered a breathtaking view of the lake—an ideal setting to unwind. The Wi-Fi deserves a special mention; it was one of the fastest we have experienced in Sri Lanka so far, making it easy to stay connected while still enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Dining was another highlight of our stay. The F&B team delivered excellent service with genuine smiles, and the food was absolutely delicious. From traditional Sri Lankan favorites to a variety of other options, every meal was satisfying and memorable. We also enjoyed walking around the stunning property, surrounded by nature and tranquility. The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel and gardens were outstanding, and every staff member we met from housekeeping to the restaurant was polite, professional, and helpful. Overall, Amaya Lake gave us a truly unforgettable experience. With excellent service, amazing food, and the best FREE Wi-Fi we’ve come across in Sri Lanka, it was everything we hoped for and more. We loved every moment and will definitely return again.

Too rustic inside. Bathroom could use upgrades and better cleaning.

The dinner was pretty good. The breakfast was average. The room was nice. Tennis court was a major highlight!

The service wasn't great. And some facilities they advertise are not available (swim up bar), or you have to pay for them (pool table, table tennis). The massage was very bad. You can't do anything on the lake except canoe, and a staff member canoes you around and you have to pay for it which is not what we expected.

La location era veramente bella, il lago creava un'atmosfera molto suggestiva, la struttura è immersa nel verde proprio sulla riva di un lago meraviglioso. Per raggiungere la struttura abbiamo dovuto attraversare una strada dove scorreva l'acqua in eccesso che fuoriusciva dal lago.

Abbiamo chiesto una stanza vista lago. La vista non era granché, il lago si vedeva a malapena, ma il problema piu grande è stata la stanza. Superficialmente era pulita e anche molto bella ma purtroppo aveva un fortissimo ed insalubre odore di umidità/muffa. La prima mattina ci siamo svegliati con qualche fastidio respiratorio. Abbiamo avvisato la reception che prima voleva avvisare il servizio di pulizie, ma quando abbiamo spiegato che il problema non era la pulizia interna ma probabilmente l'impianto di areazione hanno semplicemente fatto "spallucce" senza nemmeno chiedere se volevamo spostarci (l'hotel era semi vuoto) o almeno scusandosi. Spegnendo l'aria condizionata abbiamo leggermente risolto il problema ma l'odore ovviamente è rimasto sgradevole. Lo staff non è stato per niente d'aiuto. Altro episodio spiacevole è avvenuto al bar quando abbiamo aspettato 30 minuti per ordinare da bere mentre altri ospiti arrivati dopo di noi venivano serviti prima. Tutto ciò per un hotel del genere non è accettabile.
