Fairfield Inn & Suites Kingsland

This was our bi-annual north/south snowbird road trip. We've stayed at this property multiple times over the past 10 years. I made the reservations about a month in advance on line. The property is clean but showing signs of wear and in need of a refresh. The mattresses on the beds sagged and the pillows were lumpy and in need of replacement. The morning breakfast offerings, which come with the room, are modest. For anything more substantial you would need to go to a restaurant, of which there are several in the area.

I am currently here for one night on our way to Florida for a family vacation. As soon as you open the door you are hit with a musty odor. Room at a first glance is really nice looking. The more you start to look around the dirtier it gets. Stains all over the curtains, holes in the curtains, water stains in the bathtub, cracked tile in the bathroom, paint chipping or mold on the ceiling, lampshade all ripped up, microwave is sticky, lamp was unplugged, and the plug was so bent I was afraid to plug it back in. The only good thing here is the TVs worked, and the air was cold. Would not recommend this hotel ever.

First let me say I am a consistent Titanium Member with Marriott as well as a Lifetime Platinum Member with Marriott; therefore, I feel I am as qualified to evaluate a bad situation as anyone at a Marriott property. My fiasco with this property started when I checked in. Went to my assigned room (317) and found there was no TV. I went back down and spoke to the clerk who gave me a room on the 2nd floor where the ice machine did not work. Let me say the front desk clerk was as cordial and gracious as he could be. Next morning I asked front desk manager if my room would be cleaned as I was staying two nights. She assured me that this Fairfield property cleans all rooms that are either occupied or check outs on a daily basis. I thanked her as my biggest pet peeve is hotels who think they do not have to clean or tidy rooms on a daily basis. This, I believe, is a result of the Covid virus and hotels use it to hide behind not to clean rooms. My belief is if you do not want to clean my room then give me a discount on the room for not cleaning it. I returned to the hotel at 4:00pm to shower and change as I had a 5:00pm business meeting. To my surprise, the room had not been touched by housekeeping. The front desk clerk said the manager was on a phone conference call with hotel owner and could not be disturbed. This was icing on cake. I waited out the manager who was beligerent at the least combined with being rude and condesending. She said I must have had the Do Not Disturb sign on the door which I did not. BTW, this was the same manager who told me that morning that ALL rooms are cleaned DAILY. So basically she was calling me a liar. I asked for some sort of compensation which she refused saying she had to do due diligence with housekeeping. She did not want to provide anything other than saying she would be glad to give me some fresh towels. Nothing more. I contacted Marriott corporate and relayed in detail what happened. To say the least, I will never stay at this hotel again, which, on a different note is an older Fairfield that is in desperate need of remodeling. Next time in this area I will stay at one of the Hilton properties where I am a Lifetime Diamond member. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this property.

No expectations of sleep or privacy here. Was awoken by my neighbor’s phone conversation in a normal tone at 6:30. Heard every word with utter clarity. Thank God it was only a phone call. Also only place to charge a phone or device is in the bathroom. Rundown and a bit shabby. Stay if you have to but this place has seen better days.

My family never got to stay in the 2 rooms we booked due to finding a roach in the room as soon as my husband opened the door. I asked for a refund and was basically told no. I waited to speak to management in the am, and was told to reach out to booking.com and I did so and still have no resolve with our money. Fairfield by Marrot is not only diry but they will take your money and keep it even if you do not stay there.

Great hotel friendly for both pets and budgets

In general it was ok…. But tv didn’t work in the suit where the couch was.
