Courtyard by Marriott Lafayette

Check in staff were super nice and helpful.

The mattress was saggy and the pool was small. Overall, it was a nice facility. Just not what I was expecting for the money.

Everything is great but only the air condition unit seems old and the panel fall apart.

We had looked forward to staying at the Courtyard because of such good experiences at the Courtyard in Tampa and in Charleston SC. We were so very disappointed in this Courtyard. We wish we had believed the reviews we had read and we would have found another place to stay. You don’t notice these things until you get into the room. 1. The room had not been adequately cleaned. We used wipes to clean off the light switches and around the coffee area. The wipes were extremely dirty when we were done, especially around the coffee area. It didn’t seem like the room had been dusted. 2. The lights attached to the head board on both sides of the bed would spin around if you weren’t careful. 3. The mattress was covered with two plastic mattress covers that seemed old and stiff. They crackled every time you moved on the bed. The mattress pad was very old, thin and had many tears in it. The bedspread had some pink stuff caked on it. 4. The refrigerator had paper frozen to the inside of it. We spoke to the young man at the front desk about a couple of these issues and he gave us free breakfast vouchers as a way to say “sorry.” The most miserable night of our entire trip. So sad!

We came up to Lafayette for a nighttime Purdue football game, so the hotel rates in the area that weekend were ridiculous. The Courtyard was no better in that regard. I paid more for this one night at this Courtyard than I’ve paid for similar accommodations in the heart of New York City. But, it is what it is. All of the hotels were pricey that weekend, there was no avoiding it. The bathroom in our room was filthy though. The shower was filled with mold and mildew. The floor was gross and it was clear it hadn’t been deep cleaned, or even just cleaned, in a while. Next time, we’ll just drive home after the game.

Lobby and rooms very nice. Modern cafeteria and cozy rooms. Few cons listed below: Hotel near high voltage power lines - not too pretty, toilet was getting stuck, shower door was falling off the wall.

Great place to stay!

Older hotel with minimal amenities. Public bathroom was disgusting with various liquids all over the floor. Very much a nothing included hotel. They had no complimentary coffee in the lobby but you could get a muffin top and coffee for $13. Marriott has really gone down hill. Little value for the name brand.

The room was nice and check in was nice. The breakfast left a lot to be desired at this price point. Waffle, scrambled eggs, and sausage. You had to pick juice or coffee, not both. A cup of fruit was available for an additional $10 charge. I would expect to pay for each item in a restaurant but this was nothing more than a star bucks setup. I would expect coffee, juice, fruit to be a part of breakfast.
