Courtyard by Marriott Lafayette

I had to change rooms due to the toilet not flushing but the staff was helpful, and prompt to move me to a better room. Very accommodating and honestly the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in at a hotel.

Paid 359$/ day without drinking water in the room & no complimentary breakfast !

The room assigned was far below any Marriott Courtyard I have been to across the U.S. Damaged furniture, really unpleasant smell in room and hall for duration of stay, iron & ironing board stored haphazardly, blow dryer in closet not bathroom so it gave impression the room was poorly tidied & cleaned to begin with. Perhaps it was the wing we were assigned that is in such bad shape as it seems other reviews didn’t have the unpleasantness we experienced. The smell was so bad. I did complain and Marriott reduced the rate which I appreciate, hence the two stars.

This was the definition of amazing customer service. When we arrived to check in, I found out I somehow made the mistake of booking for the night before. Instead of blaming me or anything like that, she immediately found us another room, no questions asked. They didn't have a king available, "would an executive King be ok? We'll be sure to charge the same." Not only that, they refunded me for the night before when I wasn't there, didn't even mention it until check out! Just great experience.

Check in was quick. This is how it should be.
