"Good but some flaws"

The hotel is a good basic hotel, few frills but competent. We were surprised that breakfast on the first day was high quality but the second day fell back to lower standard for no apparent reason. Nothing wrong with it just not as good. The hotel does not have air conditioning so as the weather was very hot you have to leave the window open to cool the room. Unfortunately the kitchen extractor vent must have been below our room because the constant smell of fried food was very strong to an unpleasant level. This is a major flaw in hot weather.

Great location and value. Friendly staff. Spacious room. Unfortunately despite my having booked a twin room, we arrived to find the 2 beds pushed together as a double, and wedged in place by fixed bedside tables either side. I'd booked a twin for a reason.

"Comfortable Stay – But No Air Conditioning & Firm Bed"

I recently stayed at ibis Styles and had an overall enjoyable experience. The room was clean, the breakfast was excellent, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful—everything you’d hope for in a city hotel. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. First, the bed was extremely firm, which unfortunately caused my wife’s back to go into spasm during our stay. This made it difficult for her to sleep and definitely affected our comfort. Second, the room became quite warm at night and there was no air conditioning—something that wasn’t mentioned in the hotel’s description. With summer approaching, that’s important information for prospective guests. That said, the hotel had many positives, and I’d still recommend it—just with a few words of caution regarding the bed and the lack of climate control.

Comfy, spacious rooms, cleanliness was excellent, lobby-restaurant-bar very nice decorated, very clean and convenient! Breakfast was fine and very well priced. We really enjoyed our stay. However, there is a little complaint which refers to smoking area, although this goes for almost every hotel, airport, public space in the UK. Smoking area should be a covered space with a few seats or a table as well. In this hotel there was a space outside the restaurant with a few tables that could be used by smokers although not covered. I think it's easy to find a way to serve smokers as well and treat them like human beings that we are.
