Great location and very friendly staff. We paid the cheapest rate on a Sunday night, and in comparison to other central hotels it was a good price for the comfort.

The room was in need of a little updating. It was quite noisy from the road, and the facilities weren’t perfect - the TV didn’t work that well, the windows wouldn’t stay open and the bathroom wasn’t the cleanest we’ve experienced. For the price we paid it was absolutely a good option, but we will probably look for somewhere else when we visit York again.

We loved the charm and character of the hotel, beautifully decorated room, enormous bathroom and location.

The reception staff could be better. When we first arrived. The girl was lovely. I paid for our stay including the parking. Our room was not ready so we went out . On returning I checked back in . They lady there was not at nice. Insisting I check in again filling out the same forms I had already completed. Charging me again for parking . When we checked out the young man . Sorted it out and I await the refund. The 2nd lady told us nothing about the hotel she even told us the wrong time for breakfast. Luckily all other staff were lovely . Perhaps she new.

Stayed in a Deluxe Room for 2 nights. Lovely warm welcome at reception, the girl remembered us from previous stays. We were early but our room was ready which was great. Spotlessly clean, huge comfy bed, great walk in shower with views over the car park / garden. Housekeeping excellent. Great bar for pre dinner drinks. Breakfast is fantastic. Great choices the granola with yoghurt and compote is so tasty. Parking available behind the hotel. This is our favourite HDV in the UK. We will be back.

It’s a lovely building with very comfortable rooms and public spaces. The staff are fab.
