The location was fine but the room was tiny and the single bed was too small for me as I'm quite a big person and kept worrying I'd fall off. The clothing hangers were too small and could only fit 2 items of clothing.

There was a major problem with the room, which meant I didn't get any sleep and ultimately had to move to another room. The hotel staff were very helpful and the hotel refunded the night in full.

The Viking Hotell is a very good budget-priced (for Tromso) hotel. Everyone is very friendly and the hotel is well placed for access to the town and activities. Free waffles if you're there at the right time!

Great landing place for coming into Oslo - right outside the central station on the main shopping avenue, with many restaurants and sights within easy walking distance. For anything further out, the train, bus, and light rail are all right there. Easy walking distance to Akerhus and the harbor, where the ferries are.

Daytime staff need to be welcoming more.Evening and night staff pleasant. overall is ok

There was no hot water in the morning. The sink was blocked in the evening; the young guy at the front desk had no clue; my husband had to fix it to allow the family to brush the teeth. I do not recommend this hotel which is, by the way, very expensive, even for Norway.

Came here mainly for northern lights. Actually saw best one on walk up to lake from hotel. Partially cloudy. Klaus on night shift was very friendly and helpful in trying to get us to find the lights (with rental car). We came back at 2 or 3 in morning our last night & he had waffles out for us! He's so cool. They have nice breakfast buffet.

Everything that we needed. Close to center of town. Very easy to walk almost everywhere. Breakfast for a decent price as well. Plan on returning some day!!!

Friendly staff, comfortable, clean room and anot easy walk to cafes, restaurants and attractions. Free tea & coffee making facilities available all day & night in reception, and waffle making between 6-8pm.

The staff was excellent and and did all to accommodate with all they could. There were a couple of things that didn't go well but that is up to the owners to address these. Well done to the staff.
