Best Western Plus Luna del Mar

It’s old and needs renovations in some places. Prices are little high for the area and what they offer

These are some the very unpleasant and dangerous aspects of our stay at the Best Western Plus Luna Del Mar. First of all it should be somehow listed that the hotel does not have an elevator. It was 96 degrees and above all 3 days of our stay. Upon check in we had to carry our heavy bags up three flights of stairs. It was not a pleasant way to begin our stay. We had 2 rooms. In One of the rooms the AC did not cool. For 4 people in our room we only had 2 towels. We had to ask for more. When we asked for towels for the pool we were told it was 30 minutes before the towel service closes for the day so we couldn’t get any, but the pool was open for another 3 hours. We were told that the rubber bracelet system was used so that only hotel guests could use the beach and pools, we saw several people using the pools that did not have bracelets. We chose to stay here for private pools. The morning we checked out at 8:00 AM it was dark. We could not see anything and none of the hallways or stairwells were light. There were no lights at all. My husband had to take all of our heavy bags to the cars in the dark up and down stairs. It was very dangerous. If he didn’t know there was a pool just past one of the stairwells he could have fallen in. This was not a good stay and will not be a good memory for our family.

It was my second visit and another wonderful experience with the hotel. After complaining about the room being on the third floor without an elevator, the manager immediately moved us to the ocean front room on the second floor.. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good and the beach was great. We absolutely loved it.

The hotel is right on the beach, but my room wasn't very clean or in good conditions. The closet was very dirty. The bathroom didn't have hand towels or face cloths. The weather is warm, so when I arrived there, was no water in the bathroom to take a shower. The AC was off and the control remote in the room was missing, so couldn't turn it on. I requested 3 times to three different people, including the front desk staff to come to turn the AC on, but nobody did it. Close to 9:00PM, I was feeling dizzy and sweating because of the heat. My brother who was in the same hotel, came with his AC control remote and turned it on. Then he went back to the front desk to request another AC control remote (this was the 4th time) After that, one of the staff brought the AC control remote. The safety box wasn't working either. Luckily, we just paid for two nights. Overall, not a good place to stay more than that.

Photos online didn't look anything like the photos. Service was mediocre at best.

The only thing I liked about the hotel were the views! High praise to the photographer who took the photos for the brochure. In person it looked nothing like the photos.

The hotel location is great!!! there is a bunch of restaurants and bars of all kind in a walking distance from the hotel!!! on the other side the hotel is located in plata Las Brisas, since this is open sea it is a little dangerous to swim or fully go into the sea (Good thing is the hotel had people from Mexico Navy making sure there was no problem) The room was a disaster! My fiance and me felt that we were staying inside a closet, the room was extremely small! there was no room to walk anywhere on the room! And it took about 5 hours for the AC to actually work! The restroom had to remain closed in order to keep a good temperature in the room and of course was super super hot!!! Some of the channels on the TV doesn't really work! The staff was great! they got a safe box for us! and was helpful all the time! I would recommend this hotel but just don't expect much for the room!

We loved this Hotel. We had a suite with a jacuzzi and king bed. It was a huge room facing the ocean you hear the waves crash all night it was amazing I highly recommend this hotel . The staff was so polite the restaurant was awesome food I just can't say enough wonderful things about this place we stayed .

Nice hotel, clean, safe, quiet, and convenient to good restaurants..good internet but a little slow...

I got there a couple hours earlier from check in time, so they told me to come back a hour later. Went gor a walk came back a hour later and they didnt have my suite ready,so they told me since they didnt want me to wait more time they will give me a better one. I got the most beautiful suite in the hotel, were you can see ocean view and jacuzzi. They have the best custumer service overall . The next day eventhough i check out ,they let me stay at the pool or hotel until 8pm. Everything was perfect and awesome i will sure go back again.
