Great location along public footpaths. Lovely restaurant downstairs.

A really lovely place to stay, especially as I was staying here alone. Felt very safe and welcomed. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean and decorated well. Tea & coffee facilities with bottled water and Kit Kats left each day, a really nice touch. The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere and is very popular for food in the evening. I didn't eat here in the evening but the fact it gets fully booked each night says something about the quality of the food, which sounded good. Breakfast was good, a combination of some help/serve yourself cereal/toast etc and order cooked breakfast as you like it. I am veggie and although there were no veggie sausages available on first day, they got some in for the next day and gave me 3! ( I had mentioned it when checking in and was told it was ok but I suggest you emphasise this if you're the same.) Parking is good but maybe a bit snug if you've got a very big car. Drinks a little pricey (£5 a pint) but I guess that's similar for the area? The only thing that could have been improved was the sound quality as the first night I was disturbed by the person in the next room coughing all night long and door in the corridor banging. Not much they can do about that really though, guess I was just unlucky that night. Would recommend.

Check in was easy. Breakfast was in the restaurant and one could choose a hot cooked meal. WiFi was not good in the rooms off the back of the hotel.

Room was small but ok for one night. Clean and reasonably comfortable. Wifi was poor, especially when the pub is busy, as there is little/no mobile phone signal in the area.

Stayed for 5th year for Cheltenham Festival. Excellent location. Great bar and restaurant. Hope we can get in next year.

Friendly staff and atmosphere. A very pleasant pub which is obviously popular with locals. The room we stayed in, (3) was part of a small adjoining extension and although quite small, had all amenities. I got the impression that there was a staff “smoking area” a few yards from our door by the kitchens - this may not be so? Excellent breakfast. Car parking right outside the door. Thanks!

Fantastic food, great room, a short walk along the river into the centre of town
