"Very disappointing - stay somewhere else."

The building is unique and the location stunning. The staff were extremely helpful - especially the lady in charge of breakfasts who was not only efficient but friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately there was a lot to be disappointed in. I dislike leaving negative reviews but would not want others to spend significant amounts of money on a decidedly sub optimal experience - especially when it turns out there are much better and competitively priced options nearby. The building is not properly maintained with many areas either not particularly clean or actually dirty. The bathrooms in particular need thorough refurbishments - ours had a revolting floor and cracked mirrors with an old shower enclosure. similar stories were true of the other rooms used by others in our party. The standard of even recent decoration was very poor. Basically the hotel is under invested in both in terms of the fabric of the building and the number of staff needed to run it.

You are made to feel at home here. Our evening dinner was excellent, as was the cooked breakfast 😋 Lots of character, just like our 1st class host David. Thanks a million for looking after us all. Hope to get back this Christmas!!
