Payment Information: Please note that the Charterhouse does not accept American Express or Diners Club cards. The swimming pool is open from 31 May - 31 August weather permitting. Check-In Information: The Charterhouse does not have 24-hour reception facilities, so please provide an estimated time of arrival when booking. Check-in is usually before 18:00. No arrivals after 22:00 are accepted. Please note that the hotel does not accept cats. Pets can only be accommodated in the Small Double Room with Patio and Large Family Room (2 adults + 2 children) with Garden View, and cannot enter the main house. Please inform the property prior to arrival if your are traveling with a pet. Please note that guests who book 'room with breakfast' rates can choose from a variety of breakfast options including Continental, Full English and Vegetarian.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. Guests under the age of 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. A deposit may be required at the property.

"We had a very pleasant stay."

The location was good for what we wanted to explore. The landlady was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The house and gardens are beautiful. We chose the location because of its proximity to the train station.

It was a bit out of the way from the centre of Torquay.

Fabulous location and friendly host. Room was spotless and comfortable. Added bonus was a mini fridge, ideal for longer stays and chilled drinks on a hot day. Perfect dog friendly room with direct access to the garden and great walks from the door. Will definitely stay again.

We could not fault our stay at the The Charterhouse. Owners were very friendly and welcoming. They went above and beyond for us during our stay. The room was lovely, cozy and clean. Breakfast was superb.

Ideal location and with parking on-site, it was easy to find. A most lovely welcome by our host and a very comfortable room with everything we needed, including fresh milk.

The charter house is a beautiful property , the staff are absolutely lovely! Rooms were very well kept and clean . Nice and warm for an autumn/winter stay too. We would definitely come again :)
