The Charterhouse

Lisa was so friendly from first communication right through to the end of our stay. It is in a fabulous location, perfect if driving or travelling by train. My daughter and I felt very safe and cared for. Excellent breakfast and beautifully presented rooms. Homemade jams and locally sourced ingredients made a very special touch. I'd recommend the Peach and Vanilla and Raspberry jams😍

Nothing to dislike.

Comfortable and clean property, with good parking. We didn’t have the breakfast, but it looked good from all the reviews! Fresh milk in the fridge for morning teas. The host was very accommodating on our late arrival. Spacious room.

Location for us was perfect! Lovely and quiet for the evening but within a 20 min walk of the centre for during the day. The room was nicely decorated, clean and the fridge came in very handy as it allowed us to store some drinks and snacks to take out on day trips. Couldn’t fault the owners. Lisa was welcoming when we arrived and made sure we were well looked after at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was great. The property does sit on a hill so some may find the driveway difficult. To get around this, there are steps through the garden and I’m sure the owners would happily assist with bags should anyone need help from the lower car park. Would definitely recommend and if we ever returned I’d happily rebook.

Not a complaint, just personal preference, we would have preferred a bigger TV in the room. There is a larger TV available in the communal lounge area, but after a busy day, we just wanted to chill in our room. Also, staying in the family room, it would have been handy if the connecting room had a TV.

Good ample free parking , local to amenities , bus route etc

From start to end, the trip was made special by Lisa and her partner. It was my other half's birthday and Lisa made sure balloons were ready and took delivery of the cake for his special day for our arrival. Nothing was too much trouble!

Hated having to leave!!!!!!

Lisa & Christophe have absolutely nailed every detail of a luxury stay. From the bed to the shower, the breakfast to the building & grounds, what lovely people with a lovely home.

There's nothing to dislike here, we would happily stay if we could.

The welcome from our lovely host. The clean room and facilities were amazing. Fridge in room everything was spotless bedding towels ect. It even has a few areas to sit and a pool. Oh and breakfast was soo good with lots of choices.

The drive . The car park was at the bottom it was great and roomy it was a slope upto the house. It was worthwhile but maybe a mention.
