The location was perfect. Staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to provide excellent service.

The bed was not comfortable and the springs were felt through the bed. There wasn’t any place to sit such as a lobby or reception area.

Very conveniently located, although outside noise, even simple chatter, travelled right into the room.

Beds were too soft (springy) and uncomfortable. Be prepared to climb steep, narrow staircase immediately upon entering.

Location is fantastic, check-in was fine, our room was large with lots of storage space, trad furnishings, en suite with bath. I used the 10% discount for nice cafe next door for breakfast which was a nice touch.

Bed was a bit soft for my liking. I am not sure of criteria for a 4 star but I would describe this as quite a basic, old fashioned 3* hotel. There was nothing wrong with it, I just would prefer more pared back and cohesive decor. A simply decorated room with wooden floorboards, white bedding, fewer superfluous cushions, etc, would feel more luxurious.

Location, friendly, helpful staff, clean property & you could leave baggage prior & post stay. Superior twin was extremely spacious with windows that opened & overlooked Broad Street which was quiet after pubs, at the far end of the street, closed & people had dispersed. ( April visit) Note : Steep steps to reception & rooms not suitable if you have mobility problems.

The ceiling damage from leak in bathroom above had not been repaired & was flaky in some areas. Sealant along shower glass needed replacing due to mould. Bathroom was spotless otherwise, just these minor repairs( reported) maybe aesthetically off putting to some guests.

The Receptionists were helpful, carrying our luggage from the ground floor (street level) to our room, and vice versa. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, and the bed was comfortable

The drinks (coffee & tea) and biscuits were minimal.
