The New Inn - Kidmore End

The staff were friendly enough but the whole place is desperaty in need of a thorough make-over. Fairly comfortable but very basic. Very quiet though and in a lovely position. Breakfasts not available other than an 'in your room' pack which was poor and expensive - we only had it once out of 3 mornings, poor value. We felt sorry for them - a beautiful property but very 'tired'.

The location is beautiful. The pub is lovely and the staff are friendly. The bed was very comfy and the room was cosy, we had a good nights sleep. The private garden area off the room was a nice surprise. The room had everything you could need. There was plenty of parking. The bar area is really welcoming and it was lovely to sit with a glass of wine after a long day of driving.

The room was a bit rundown and the floors were a bit dirty. The bathroom was mouldy in places. Nothing too major but it would benefit from a bit of TLC. It wouldn't put me off staying again though.

They were seriously short staffed, and the one member of staff had to wait tables, serve bar and check guests in... and she did it all with a positive approach and high standard of professionalism.

Brakspear need to spend money on this property. Carpet stained, paint chipped, some of the most uncomfortable beds I have been on in a long time. They're advertising for a new landlord, and perhaps when they come in they can bring the property up to a level it should be.

Veel geluidsoverlast van ander kamers, dichtslaande deuren, krakende plafonds, etc. Verder alleen in het weekend eten in de pub.

A good location; it was clean; bed was comfortable; quiet at night

No mirror in main room apart from inside a wardrobe; only two plug sockets in a cramped corner of room making it almost impossible to put up ironing board without having to move furniture; bathroom vanity unit had a deep gouge out of it. The shower was scalding hot and as the very old taps were corroded it was impossible to adjust them. It was dangerous to use. WiFi unavailable unless you hung out of the front window. No staff on the premises when the pub was closed, which is totally unacceptable. The property needs a complete upgrade.

Lovely staff, room was clean, had everything we needed, and very comfortable . Evening meal was exceptionally good.

Location was nice and bed was comfy

Dirty stained carpets, dirty cups , room wasn't ready until 15.50 and had to wait , rude boy behind bar said no food being served at 18.30 no apology but looked out of our room window and saw people eating hot food so no idea why we were told no food being served ? Maybe it is being we are not locals ? Room was OK for money but won't be back ...not a nice experience also milk provided was nearly a month out of date !
