Because the building is very old, you can hear other rooms so we didn't sleep very well

L'hôtel (qui fait également café) est idéalement situé dans la grande rue animée de Rye, à 5 minutes à pieds de la gare. Le petit déjeuner était par ailleurs excellent. La chambre était au calme, spacieuse, avec un petit salon et une grande salle de bain.

La baignoire n'est pas totalement adaptée à la salle de bain.

We have stayed in the White House a number of times. We used to live in Rye so we’re regular breakfast visitors. It’s a very convenient location and you can use the self check

Location, excellent breakfast, very clean and friendly staff.

We had two rooms: Muffin and Crumpet. Muffin was very good, bright and spacious albeit the bathroom very compact. Crumpet was in the loft. Small and cramped and our 6ft friend couldn’t stand up in it. The XL double bed was just a standard size and the seating area not fit for purpose and you can’t sit there without bashing your head. Not suitable for people who are unsteady on their feet

This was a wonderful house, steeped in history, comfortable and beautiful, with lovely staff and the best breakfast I've ever had. (Breakfast was unconventional and delicious, with many options. If we didn't want the main meal, hot drink and smoothie at one sitting we could have any part in the amazing bakery on the ground floor up to 4pm.) The house is very well-located; near the station, central for shops, buses and high-quality restaurants and cafes. The beds were comfortable and shower was great. Very thoughtful refreshments in the room. Lovely town. Lots to do on a short break, and plenty of options to visit other areas nearby. (We went twice to the beautiful Rye Valley nature reserve, easily accessibly by local bus, with an impressive range of birds including rare avocets, and Discovery Centre with hides, great cafe and lovely helpful people.) Recommended for a treaty break!

We booked the room on the understanding it had two beds (Booking.com clearly listed it as one double, one sofa bed) and when we arrived were told the sofa bed was not for sleeping on for anyone over 12, and there were only double rooms. Staff were very accommodating, and provided bedding after discussion, and all was well, but this was not a good start Booking.com! It was extremely windy the first night, and the flag immediately outside our window was whipping in the wind, making a sound like fireworks nearby. Apart from this, despite the pleasant bustle during the day, it was very quiet outside at night.
