Fern Grotto Inn

My wife and I had an amazing time swimming, snorkeling, hiking, and kayaking. There were a lot of small details that made the trip better like a being able to borrow a cooler and frozen water bottles for hiking trips and free laundry. Great place!!!!

Absolutely beautiful, clean, comfortable! We greatly appreciated all the amenities and the friendly people. Picking fresh star fruit was an unexpected treat! Would definitely stay here again!

Our cottage was neat and tidy. The kitchen cabinets were filled with all the necessary items for cooking. The entire cottage was decorated with floral designs to give it a tropical feel. A nice surprise was left in the refrigerator. Towel swans were on the bed, in addition to towels for bathing and swimming. Guide books were available in the room. Our cottage had an enclosed yard area with a bbq, sink, hammock, a table, and chairs. An additional perk was the free use of beach chairs, umbrellas, noodles, kayaks, ice chests, and bicycles.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. They had thought of almost everything. Felt like our home.

My husband and I stayed at the Fern Grotto Inn in August 2025. We usually stay on the north side of the island. We opted to stay in Kapaa this time as it was between where I wanted to go on the north side of the island and where he likes to surf on the south side. The cottage was great. It had all the amenities we needed plus beach gear to borrow. I would recommend the Fern Grotto Inn!

Such a lovely cottage. Very nice garden setting next to river. Extremely clean. Thoughtful touches to welcome us. Kayaks, bikes, and beach gear to use.

Kauai's Best! Serene setting in an excellant location. We felt welcomed and cared for upon opening the door. So many little extras and did I mention, clean? We would love to return.

The property was like an oasis! We loved relaxing here and using the bikes to explore the local area. The facilities were great and there were lots of ways you could explore the local surroundings (bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, snorkels etc). The property was well equipped and there were bbqs to use and lots of outside space to relax in. We also really appreciated the laundry facilities! Couldn’t recommend more.
