Crystal Palms Beach Resort

Location was okay.

It was not very clean, see attached photos. Disgusting!Had to check in a separate location. It took a long time to find the correct office in that building. No mention prior to arrival that the elevator was broken. The whole experience was bad. Paid 238.00 for one night and the place is dirty. There was hair in the refrigerator! No hair dryer.

The suite was very nice. The property was impacted by the hurricane causing the elevator to be out of order. We didn't know that until check in. We originally had a suite in the 5th floor but was changed to the 3rd. We would give it another try once repairs are made.

My daughter and I booked the condo, but when we arrived and checked in the condo was filthy and someone else was very obviously squatting there. We had open drinks on the counter, table, and outside balcony table. There were literally dirty clothes in the main bedroom, under the bed. The bathroom had clumps of hair and a nose ring on the tub. There was food/drink in the fridge. This was all very overwhelming after a 16 hour trip to get to the condo. Thank goodness for the man working on Christmas day. He was understanding and did what he could to move us out of Crystal and over to another resort. We did not stay at Crystal, but I was charged as if I stayed there. This whole experience has been very upsetting. I would not book with booking.com or stay at Crystal. I would not recommend this resort to anyone who asks for suggestions on places to stay in Treasure Island.

Make sure you don't have squatters in your condo. Don't charge people for a stay when they didn't stay there. Be understanding and when something like this happens, make it right. This is the first time I have been asked for any feedback concerning this awful experience.

We were provided good instructions on where to check in due to latest hurricane event. Autumn checked us in, gave us our VIP perk wine and was very quick/easy to accommodate on any issue we had. For the price and amenities this place worked very well for our party of 4. Overall pleased, but was disappointed with the elevators not working especially being on the upper floors for the gulf view. We are in shape and don't mind the extra exercise but may not be acceptable to others. The property is undergoing repair from the hurricane on the bottom lobby and the building itself is showing age. Could use a nice refresh and working elevator to be a 10/10 in my opinion.

Location is nice. You can see the beach from the upper levels and there’s a lot to walk around and see. Within 10 minutes drive any direction there are plenty of stores and places to eat.

Most of the issue this trio was not everything is back in operation since the hurricane. Elevator was down and we were on the 5th floor. No on site staff to handle immediate needs. Room was lacking in hand soap and dish-ware that was supposed to be available. WiFi was also down. This usually wouldn’t be an issue but it was cooler than we had expected it to be and we’re going to stream some movies in the evening and was unable to. I should have done some more research prior to booking, but didn’t realize they were still having this many complications from the hurricane damage.

The elevator is broken The toilet in the main bathroom didn’t flush The trim near the kitchen was falling off The heat didn’t work & the filter was frozen The furniture was stained, completely out of shape or broken. The kitchen sink water pressure was nothing.

We started staying here about 20 years ago and this place was a very nice place to stay back then. Unfortunately the past several stays are showing the lack of upkeep on this property. The beds and furniture are terrible and in need of replacing. The rooms look like they are never cleaned (as noted by the house keepers wanted sign posted outside the hotel). And there is nobody there to check you in when you arrive (an attempt to save a few $ I have no doubt). Even the soap and shampoo they provide are junk. Unfortunately each condo is individually own and there are no standards for keeping them up to date. There was terrible mold growth in the shower (room 402). Spend the extra money and stay at the Marriot Residence Inn across the street (and on the beach) as it's newly remodeled and a wonderful hotel. It's really a shame since the building is very unique and has wonderful architecture on the outside.
