"the hotel is conveniently located and easy to find"

6.0

I am not happy with my stay as there is lot of fish smell and other sea food smell in the lobby and other restaurants. this i suitable for Japanese people and other who eat meat. I am strict vegetarian and cannot stand fish smell. Sorry for this.

"Great service, mediocre location"

8.0

The best thing about this hotel was the service. The staff fell all over themselves making us welcome and comfortable. Free welcome drinks, staff knew who we were, ran inside the elevator to push the buttons for us when we had heavy bags. Breakfast was really good and there was a mini-cake shop in the lobby with great cake. On the flip side, the hotel was a little past its prime...needs paint. The location was mediocre. Kind of far from the "tourist" part of town. Nothing too exciting to eat or drink within walking distance. If you are there for business, it was great. If you're there for tourism, you may want to stay closer to the center.

"Another Great Stay"

10.0

Once again I was very impressed with the quality and service at the Almond Hotel. Everytime I visit PP its the only place I like to stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is excellent (Eastern and Western Food). Definitely recommend staying there!

"Nothing special..."

6.0

The room had no window and as there was building works going on all day long impossible to rest in the room during the day. I felt like I was allocated the worst room in the whole hotel which is not a nice feeling when you are travelling as a solo female. The food was very expensive.

"Satisfactory in every way"

10.0

My stay at the Almond was for 19 nights and was satisfactory in every way. This hotel is a very good value for the money. The room was extremely clean and very comfortable. Restaurant food was good. Frankly, I thought the staff was exceptional. They were friendly and unfailing helpful. It was very easy to get around the city from this location. I owe the manager Mr. Hem a particular mention and thanks because he honored a specific request for me which made my departure from Phnom Penh much easier and which he easily could have not done. So, thank you, Mr. Hem, and staff for a pleasant and rewarding stay.

"misleading ad, no hot water, rude hotel staff"

2.0

I stayed at this place on Jan 31 to Feb 1, 2012 which was the last day of my stay in Cambodia after 18 days in different cities in Cambodia and Laos. From the hotel ad it was stated that it has a swimming pool . So when I check in, I was looking forward for a nice swim and was very disappointed that the hotel does not have any swimming pool. So I thought a hot bath would soothe my weary body from a long hectic week but to my dismay, there's no hot water. When I called in the front desk and complained about the lack of hot water, they were rude and did not fix my problem. The hotel is not very convenient and expensive for the available amenities or lack thereof. Although the breakfast is good which was included, however, evaluating the overall stay, I will not recommend this place to my friends. Travellers from North Carolina, USA

"Good location but a bit expensive"

8.0

Nice hotel, very clean, excellent breakfast, good location. Overall a good experience but I found it to be a bit expensive for Cambodia, and therefore not the best value. There are similar hotels at somewhat better rates. I also was stuck with a 3rd floor room in the back (no elevator), for which I was charged the same rate. Water pressure was also very low up there, making showers slow and frustrating.

"The Almond Hotel in Phnom Penh"

8.0

The Almond Hotel proved to be a pleasant surprise. Having stayed at several 3 and 4- star hotels in Cambodia this past month, I believe the Almond is under-rated at 3*. The condition, amenities, service, and food are all excellent and I highly recommend this hotel.

"Almond Review"

8.0

This hotel is a nice and business friendly hotel. They have a very good and fast internet connection. The staff is courteous and professional. My room did not have any window, so expect that if booking a less expensive room with them. This hotel seems to be a business minded hotel catering to Asian clientele, so I would not recommend it for backpackers, or if looking for a menu with western cuisine.

"Pleasantly surprised!"

10.0

I was not expecting this hotel when my tuk tuk pulled up outside the hotel. The prices I had been quoted on hotel.com seemed a deal compared with other hotels so I was not expecting such a wonderful hotel. It seems to have a lot of business customers, but the staff were very attentive in general and to my requests as a 'tourist'. The staff at the reception speak english well, however some of the others not so well, but if they did not understand, they went and got someone who did. The hotel is on the same boulevard (10-15) mins from the national museum, friendship monument and the royal palace and silver pagoda. The waterfront is also in this general location. My room was wonderful and clean, bathroom and in particular the bath tub. Breakfast was great, there were also good options if you opted to have dinner at the hotel, however there are excellent options on sisowath quay a 15 to 20 min walk away or a short 5 mins 1-2USD tuk tuk ride away. I did not try to make tour bookings with the hotel but instead got a tuk tuk outside for trips. I would definately recommend this hotel to singles, couples, business guests, unable to say for families.
