Unsure why this hotel has been given a 4 star rating I would compare it more to 4 star petrol old, dated & in need of a service

Warm, comfortable and welcoming Hotel in a beautiful town. I loved it here and will be back :)

room is fine but loads of stairs as your in the loft if you have big bags it will be a bit of a problem carrying them uo. hotel is a bit dated could do with a repaint and decorating. breakfast is great . but overall its fine.

Pleasant stay maybe needs updating to ensure a return but valu for money either way

The food here is fantastic.

Great pub with nice large rooms good restaurant and a great breakfast included in the price. The decor is dated at the moment, but the owners had people in starting to renovate some of the rooms. I spoke to one of the builders who informed me that it was a 400 year old listed building with special and expensive requirements. Our room No 14 was very spacious warm & and clean. We ate dinner at the restaurant which served very good food at reasonable prices. Our breakfast the day after was excellent and served with a smile. Rothbury is a very pleasant old town with a selection of shops pubs and restaurants. We could have stayed longer. Cragside a National Turst property is very near and well worth a visit. That is why we stayed.

It's in a great location ,the hotel could do with a touch up, the rooms are clean shower and towels good there is alot stairs so travel light, the only problem is the breakfast doesn't start early enough and takes along time.

The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The food at breakfast and in the restaurant was lovely. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
