By far exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean and spacious, and the food in the restaurant was delicious. We even did the zip line, it was two short lines but fun. We will be back!

Hotel premises were very nice. Rooms did not have air conditioners nor fans. This is necessary due to bugs and windows did not have insect screens. Toilet in the room didn't work properly. I expected more for the price. Food and service were lousy and prices were high for what you got.

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel, it is beautiful, surrounded by nature! The staff is awesome!! cheers for Abimael (at dinner time) and Miguel (at breakfast time) :) Recommendation: The shower in the Junior Suite 2 needs to be repair.

Nice place to rest up while hiking the hills of Volcan. Close to some nice local attractions like the waterfalls of Macho Monte and Finca Dracula. Overall was a decent stay. The walls were kind of thin in the suites but we were comfortable.

The property is very nice because it is fully surrounded by nature. There is a river passing next to the hotel giving a sense of great peace to the place. The common areas are pretty nice but the rooms are very old and not kept properly. Had some issues with the restaurant food multiple times...

Would not recommend this place. Paper thin walls and very outdated mattresses.

As the other reviewer said, there are limited hotel options in this area. After much searching we decided on this place. The area and the grounds are beautiful. It's located right off the road and near a beautiful stream. We arrived at 3:30 for a 3:00 check-in after a long drive from Panama City. Our room was not ready. We were disappointed but understood. At 6:00 our room was finally ready. Our room or cottage was right next to the driveway-but okay. It was large and clean but did not have much for lighting. Our neighbors were a group of men that were up all night. Because the walls were so thin we could hear every little detail. Add that to mattresses that are so old they have indentations in them, we did not have a very good night's sleep. Oh, did I mention the fact that they were filming Top Chef Panama that morning. Their film crew, production crew and all staff members arrived bright and early to set up right outside out door. When I say right outside, I mean we had to use the back door to get our belongings out of the room. Maybe that could have been mentioned when we checked in?? The front desk staff was very helpful in getting us another room. We were very appreciative. The second room sat higher on the hill and looked newer. The mattress was better, not great but better. Again our neighbors were up all night and we could hear everything. My review is not aimed at the staff because I believe she tried to help us as much as she could. We had a great experience in the restaurant, the waiter was great! My review is based on the dated construction of the hotel and outdated mattresses. If you want to get a good night's sleep it won't happen here.

I had been here before (6 years ago) and my experience was very different. We arrived couple of days before New Years Eve and stayed until January 1st. For me, the place is lovely, well located, excellent temperature but urgently needs to be updated. Personal tries their very best to make our stay pleasant but there were some situations that were not under control. Food was not good, though is somehow expensive compared to the quality. Breakfast was too simple and basic. The food takes a lot of time to be ready ( lunch and dinner ). We found an scorpion on the shower. Thus they urgently need to pay attention to cleanliness and bug control. This is not an hostal or cabin in the woods. They name themselves as a hotel and they need to to some refurbishing now. We took a horse ride to the farm which was great. Horse guide Marcucci was excellent. To sum up, the hotel needs investment. I felt that I paid too much for what i received and if you say you are going to have fireworks on New Years Eve celebration, at least it has to last more than a minute and not 15 seconds.

Hotel options are very limited in the Highlands. Highlands is the best we could find. Rooms are simple but clean (cleanliness is really important to us). The hotel is well situated next to a stream on the base of a mountain. There are hiking trails that you can hike or ride on horses. The food, however, is really bad.
